 Barbara with the Churchill cup
Huge thanks are due especially to Barbara for providing the wonderful venue ( I now have jars of hedgerow jelly and damson chutney from the foraging of her hedgerows...), and for sorting food and entertainment. Also to Ilse for organising sponsorship at pretty short notice and very generous goodie bags, and to our vice-president Brendan, for sorting the complexities of IT and being on hand to guide those of us less able to deal with technical hitches.
Last but not least, an enormous thank you to our sponsors. It was great to have Tony Pinkus from Ainsworths (and Pharmacy Dean of the Faculty) actually with us for the weekend; his contributions were invaluable and his sponsorship much appreciated. Also Honey’s (thank you as ever Jonathan), Freeman’s, your generous support is always hugely appreciated, Pet Plus – thanks so much Sue, Hug pet food, Nutravet, Petremedy, and Naturavetal pet foods. All these sponsors deserve our thanks and consideration of their products.

  Faculty News
I am pleased to announce the following awards from the Faculty of Homeopathy. Two new Veterinary Licentiates of the Faculty of Homeopathy.
The two candidates, Kay Barclay and Manda Scott passed the required examinations with flying colours. As part of the process each candidate had to submit three case histories. Our friends Steven and Lee Kayne at Freeman’s homeopathic pharmacy and Saltire books had offered a package of three books on veterinary homeopathy as part of their generous sponsorship of the presentation made by Petra Weiermeier. This consists of a copy each of Jack Hoare’s Veterinary Repertory, Tim Couzens Horses and Homeopathy and a copy of my book Insights into Veterinary Homeopathy. However it was agreed that we should award the package to whoever submitted the best set of cases for the Licentiate exam. All the cases were of a very high standard but looking back through the marking revealed that the winner ‘by a whisker’ was Kay. We offer her our congratulations and thanks again for the generous sponsorship of Freemans and Saltire.
Next I am pleased to announce that Edward de Beukelaer was elected as Veterinary Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy.
The route to Membership by equivalence is not an easy one: it requires a considerable amount of information to be submitted, and the award has to be ratified by the Council. I am pleased to welcome Edward as a full Veterinary Member.
Two further awards were made by Council to vets, being the conferring of Fellowship of the Faculty of
Homeopathy to two members.
This award is made after discussion among the other Fellows of the Faculty, and is awarded in appreciation of the service the member has made not only to the Faculty, but also to the world of homeopathy in general.
Malene Jorgensen was put forward for her continuing hard work on the Mag of the BAHVS and the IAVH. She has almost singlehandedly edited the ‘Mag’ and reliably turned it out into the world 4 times a year for more years than any of us can remember. It takes determination and passion to do this and we are pleased to be able to show our gratitude by this honour.
Mark Elliott was recognised for his long-term work representing veterinary homeopathy on the council of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons and also his sterling work on the evidence base of veterinary homeopathy. Mark continues to campaign on our behalf and we are again pleased to be able to show our continuing admiration for his work.
Both of these people were readily accepted by the Council of the Faculty of Homeopathy and on behalf of the other Fellows of the Faculty I warmly welcome them to our midst.
On behalf of the Faculty I’d like to congratulate all these five colleagues and look forward to their continuing involvement within the Faculty.
Peter Gregory Veterinary Dean Faculty of Homeopathy
