                                             The Honey’s Directory of Everything
MAY/JUNE 2O17
   Our news
For the last few months we have been including a ‘Directory of Everything’ in with all the food and ingredient orders we send to our customers. It occurred to us that you might like to see everything that we can now provide.
The most important thing we provide is, of course, free, expert advice. We are happy to help anyone who approaches us with information about canine health and nutrition. If they want
to switch their dogs (or cats) we will provide DIY recipes, tips and support. We don’t mind if they never, ever plan to become a customer. We will offer them free copies of our books and – per- haps best of all – access to our Health Team.
If you have a client who you think would ben- them to Honey’s safe in the knowledge that
What else has been happening at Honey’s HQ? Jonathan’s latest book is to be published by Head of Zeus in August. The book’s main objec- tive is to show that a business focused almost entirely on improving some aspect of the world only help to achieve positive, meaningful change but is also likely to be more sustainable and more Good Money: Become an ethical entrepreneur. Change the world. Feel better.
More literary news! Head of Zeus has also asked Vicky to update her book (The Lucky Dog Weight Loss Plan) so that they can re-publish it next January.
We are a little worried about the shortage of cer- tifed organic, British vegetables this season (un- less one wants rhubarb, for some reason there is plenty of rhubarb). At the time of going to press we are just about managing by the simple means of paying through the nose, but if things don’t improve shortly we may be forced to compromise viz. we could – for a short period – have to import happens we will try and buy from growers close to Honey’s HQ viz. in France, Ireland or Holland. It will be a temporary measure, of course.
Speaking of ingredients, we are currently in the range’. We are considering such issues as the amount of time an animal or bird spends outside, whether they are free to express their natural behaviours (such as rolling in mud or swimming) and even how quickly they grow (the slower the better). Because we know our producers so well and make regular visits we have never bothered with formal standards before, but clearly it is important for the future. Once completed we will include them in Our Ingredients Policy booklet.
Finally, thank you, as ever, for your wonder- ful support. We appreciate each and every recommendation you make. If you want to get in touch with one of our founders then please contact Jonathan via his personal email: js@jonathanself.com
Handmade biscuits
We used to make our handmade biscuits at home but Vicky got fed up with having to stay up all night baking, so now a local baker produces them for us. We use only the finest ingredients (including wholewheat flour) and, as you would expect, we have no truck with preservatives, sugar, salt, colouring or other chemicals. 100g of natural bone shaped biscuits or cheesy hearts will cost you £2.99.
              Beautiful Joe’s Ethical Treats
We also make a pure liver treat called Beautiful Joe’s. Every time we sell a packet we donate the same quantity to a dog rescue home nominated by our customers. The treats are hand made from 100% British, free-range, ox liver. Nothing is added – all we do is slowly dry the liver to lock in the flavour. If these treats were a liquid, we would call them Nectar of the Dogs. They lead to suspiciously perfect behaviour.
Gift Hampers
Don’t say it with flowers, say it with Honey’s! Prices for Gift
Hampers start at £45 including delivery. We’ll be happy to include a personalised card, too, and lots of little extras (such as book and treats).
Superdog Towel/Cape Thingy
It looks like the sort of cape that a Superhero Dog would wear, but in fact it is a cunningly designed towel. The idea is simplicity itself. You take one wet dog, slip the Superdog Towel/Cape Thingy over their head, fasten it under the tum and then either rub them dry or leave them to run around until they dry themselves. The choices of colour are black, black or black.
Swanky, matching paw towel just £6!
