FROM THE RAFINO PRESIDENT
Greetings to all FCA Members and Spouses! Hope everyone weathered
all of the storms in their geographic areas or enjoyed the sunshine if they
are located in the Sunbelt. Regardless, we all should be experiencing a
welcome change to more favorable climates as we enter spring.
Charleston! Charleston! Charleston! VP for Reunions, John Veal,
continues to frame the effort for our 2024 Charleston reunion. Sometime,
in the next few months, John will send out the official “Save the Date” email
with preliminary information about lodging and events. So, stay tuned for
that in the next month or so. Our working title Theme for the 2024 Reunion
continues to be “The Army Finance Corps down through the Years.” I am
setting up a committee that would work on realizing the theme and integrating COL (R) Kelly
it into our planning for the reunion. I am seeking a volunteer to be the committee chair to pull
things together; so if anyone would like to step forward and help shape another chapter in the
RAFINO history, please contact me. Thank you.
Ms. Ann Tolbert, VP for Surviving Spouses, is stepping down after many years of dedication to the
cause of assisting new surviving spouses navigate the transition following the loss of a loved
one. Ann has performed this duty faithfully and with a loving and caring manner that has meant
so much to so many. We salute Ann for her service to RAFINO down through the years. I am
searching for the right person to replace Ann (no easy task!) and will make an announcement
when that search bears fruit. I ask that any interested individuals please contact me directly so
we can discuss the indispensable duties that they will perform. Thank you.
And I am making a RAFINO shout out to newly promoted Brigadier General Paige Jennings, a
Finance Corps officer. The Commander of the US Army Material Command, GEN Edward Daly,
pinned the stars on BG Jennings on February 17, 2023 in Indianapolis at the Indiana
Statehouse. As I said in an earlier email, it is a great day for the Finance Corps when one of our
own makes Flag Officer. Please join me in raising a toast to her and for best wishes in all of her
future endeavors as she continues in her duties as the Commander of USAFMCOM in
Indianapolis.
In conclusion, I am recognizing all of those soldiers who have been most impactful in the success
of the Finance Corps mission. Like most officers, my reliance on the NCO corps to meet the
needs of the soldiers and families that we served each and every day cannot be overstated. As a
tribute to these selfless and highly professional men and women, I would like to leave everyone
with the verses of the Army NCO creed to ponder and remember our comrades in arms.
