2020 was a difficult year for all. A pandemic had literally stopped the world and for the entertainment industry this was also a disaster.
I managed to release 2 albums between lockdowns so I thought I would share with you what I managed to achieve. I had already released 4 singles 2019/20 and all 4 of them had reached the Top 10 in the UK ITunes country music charts as well as radio charts worldwide. I had decided to release an album in April 2020 but was unable to get in to the studio due to the lockdown. As soon as it was lifted, I managed to record the rest of the album in record time and released Unbroken, at the later date of August 25th. Unbroken was an album about my
journey in life and recently about
my battle with a tumour in my
brain. I am very pleased to say
it got to Number One in the UK.
Maybe releasing it late was a good
omen! It still gets a lot of airplay
around the world.
A couple of months after releasing Unbroken, I decided I wanted to do a Christmas album, but with more lockdowns looming, would I have the time?
I managed to book in 3 studio sessions and recorded some original Christmas tracks as well as my take on Christmas Classic Carols and eventually released my 2nd album of 2020, In the Spirit of Christmas at the end of November. This got to Number 4 in the UK Itunes country album charts as well so I was absolutely shocked to get 2 hit albums in the space of just a few months and obviously very happy.
What are my plans for 2021?
Well, the UK is back in lockdown right now, but I am hoping to release a new single in February called Shifting Sands. I have yet to record it but let’s hope I can get back into the studio very soon to start the process of a new album.
I have released several albums over the years, so in future articles, I will share the stories of my releases and live shows. Be safe everyone....
