An Evening with Glenn Ironside
It was a long time coming but we finally had Glenn Ironside on one of our shows.
Glenn was kind enough to send us over 10 tunes, that are now being played on a regular rotation on Radiodowntown.ca and on our Indie Music Monday. Both Glenn and I were also very fortunate to have my Co-Host Debbie Macdonald with us during the show.
What’s the connection? Well, we all went to the same High School, Bayview Secondary School in Richmond Hill Ontario. Both Glenn and I played in Bands back in those days, Glenn even rehearsed with us a few times. It was clear to see that Glenn was a talent and he continues that talent today.
Debbie had the good fortune of knowing Glenn during the high school initiation day. We’ll let you hear that story by going to our podcasts.
Both Debbie and I were amazed at how Glenn prepares and writes his own tunes. Layer upon layer to build the awesome sound he has. There is so much technology available today for artists like Glenn, but let’s not forget the hard grafting Glenn did in learning his talents before all this technology arrived.
