As far back as I can remember, I’ve always known I was a songwriter. I recall hanging my head out the car window as a little girl, making up songs while the wind whipped through my hair, and being glad no one could hear them. I was afraid they would make fun of me, so singing into the wind felt safe.
I’ve always written songs and known where I’d like to end up with my music. However, the personality I was born with has either not been willing, or not been able to do the things necessary to get there. It’s been a battle within which I’m happy to share with you as we go forward. My hope is by sharing some of my journey, you might glean a little wisdom to help you along the way. In this series, I’ll also be interviewing other songwriters from around the world now and then.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Beth Williams. I was born on Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico with the nomadic life of the military leading
my family to Pakistan, the Philippines, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Okinawa twice, all before I turned seventeen. Moving with my family to San Antonio, Texas at the beginning of my senior year of high school, I began my fulltime musical career after graduating, and have been writing songs and performing since then.
Here are a few things that have happened along the way:
I was an ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC NOMINEE for BEST NEW FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR and was also voted BEST INDEPENDENT FEMALE VOCALIST in CASHBOX Magazine and BEST FEMALE PERFORMER in the Independent News. My songs have charted in BILLBOARD and CASHBOX as well as numerous Indie charts. There are currently 11 CDs on my own Willow Creek Record Label. Since February of 2017, I’ve been producing and hosting the Internationally

Upbeat Tip: One of the most important things I’ve learned through the years is to keep going,
regardless of how slow or how rough the going gets. It’s okay to stop and rest, but if you have a passion for music, be ready to get back up and move forward on your musical journey. Equally important is to remember, comparison is better left alone. Compare not thyself to others and your journey will be much more pleasant!
