UK Collective – “Daylight Robbery”
The UK Collective is a gathering of musicians based in the UK and USA who got together during Janu- ary 2021, with a mutually shared interest to help each other with airplay and artistry for each other’s mu- sic.
Despite the lockdowns and geographical boundaries, they became great friends speaking daily via vari- ous forms of media.
It was inevitable that the artists should record together and the result of that collaboration was the single “Daylight Robbery”, which takes a light-hearted swipe at the music streaming industry that has left most artists struggling to earn money from sales of their recorded work.
The featured performers are:
David Philp of the Automatics
Phil Hendriks of The Stiffs, who was also lead guitarist with Les Mckeown’s Bay City Rollers until Les’s
sad death in April 2021.
Billy Brown – former lead singer and guitarist with Friends of Gavin, and solo artist.
Neil Frost - solo artist.
Also performing on the track are guitarist Ian McCallum of Stiff Little Fingers and bassist Jim Wirt (who
is best known as an in-demand Rock record producer).
The single was digitally released on 12th May 2021 on all major platforms.
