ton might be winning back voters from third-party candi- date Gary Johnson, whose support has declined from 10 percent to 8 percent.
President Obama and his family took their first excur- sion last Wednesday night into the Smithsonian’s new Na- tional Museum of African American History and Culture, for a private tour.
As the first Black president, Mr. Obama is amply repre- sented through the museum’s exhibits and galleries. There are buttons and signs from his campaign, and a program from an inaugural ball. There is also a black dress with red roses, made by African Ameri- can designer Tracy Reese, that first lady, Michelle Obama wore during the 50th anniversary ceremony com-
memorating the March on Washington.
On Wednesday night, the Obamas had the place all to themselves. Neither the White House nor the museum had any immediate comment about their reactions to the galleries or seeing themselves in the exhibitions, though in a visit of less than two hours there is surely a lot that they did not see.
The President will speak at the museum’s opening cer- emony and White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Thursday that both he and The First Lady are “quite en- thusiastic” about it.

is scheduled to meet with Is- raeli Prime Minister Ben- jamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of this week’s U.N. General Assembly in New York, the White House said Sunday.
The meeting, set to occur Wednesday, “will afford them an opportunity to discuss the strong ties between the United States and Israel, as recently underscored by the finalization of a new 10-year Memorandum of Understanding with Israel, the single largest pledge of mil- itary assistance in U.S. history,” White House Press Secretary Joshua Earnest said.
Earnest said the two leaders are “likely” to discuss the U. S.- led nuclear deal with Iran, as well as “other regional security issues.”
Last week, Israel and the United States inked a $38 bil- lion, 10-year aid package that is the largest such agreement in U. S. history.
Ehud Barak, a former Is- raeli prime minister and a for- mer defense minister under Netanyahu, blasted the arrangement in a Washington Post op-ed as “far less than what could have been obtained before the prime minister chose to blatantly interfere with U.S. politics." Barak has also gone after Netanyahu in more than an half-dozen scathing inter- views in Israel.

Donald Trump’s in-house propaganda arm used a gorilla on its homepage to illustrate its Donald Trump birtherism story.
The gorilla is Harambe, the 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla shot and killed in a tragic incident at the Cincin- nati Zoo. Harambe memes have become very popular, but the image of Harambe is often used as a slur against Black people like Leslie Jones and Michelle Obama. And obviously, President Barack Obama.
Trump finally admitted Fri- day that "President Barack Obama was born in the United States," reversing him- self on the issue that propelled him into national politics five years ago.
Trump sought to end his longstanding attempt to dis- credit the nation's first African-American president with just a few sentences tacked on at the end as he un- veiled his new hotel on Penn- sylvania Avenue in Washington.
But the issue isn't likely to die down any time soon -- es- pecially as Trump continues to falsely blame Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for starting the "birtherism" con-

that Trump's acknowledg- ment of President Obama's birthplace doesn't go far enough and that he must also apologize.
First Lady Michelle Obama and former First Lady Laura Bush reunited on Fri- day to discuss their mutual support for U. S. service mem- bers, veterans and their fami- lies during a conference at the National Archives in Washing- ton, D. C.
In comments that many saw as a direct criticism of GOP nominee Donald Trump – who has come under fire in the past for his casual remarks about the use of nuclear weapons and for threatening to "bomb the hell out of ISIS" – Mrs. Obama warned that anyone who wants to be the commander in chief should not "pop off about going to war" because it's "serious busi-
ness and lives are changed for- ever."
"So I would hope that any commander in chief that would have the privilege of serving would understand that these are real lives and real families that are impacted," said Mrs. Obama, who in 2011 launched the Joining Forces military initiative with Jill Biden, Vice President Joe Biden's wife.
Mrs. Bush – who along with her husband, Former President George W. Bush, supports service members and veterans through the Bush In- stitute – said that first ladies, like presidents, also worry about putting troops in harm's way.
