Man Killed After Answering Knock On Door
Missing Teenager Found; Wanted Felon Arrested
Man Charged With Setting His Girlfriend On Fire
Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday night in Lakeland. The shooting took place at 940 Castle Way.
According to the Lakeland Police Department, a witness at the residence of Johnathan “Jay” Charles- Pierre, 35, answered a knock on the door shortly before 11 p.m., Monday. The witness told police that an unidentified Black man pointed a handgun at him and demanded that he call Charles-Pierre to the door. When Charles-Pierre came to the door, he was armed with a handgun. How- ever, the man shot him in the chest. Charles-Pierre died as a result of his injuries.

No other injuries were re-
ported to police.

Tampa Police reported that officers were able to locate a missing teenager, and arrested a wanted felon at the same time.
Missing 17-year-old runaway, Bryana S. Lemaire, was found at an area hotel and is now safe.
Police had been searching for Antwoine Noland, who was being sought for failing to appear in court on aggravated assault with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm charges.
Noland was also a person of interest in the murder of Alica Fussell. Fussell was shot to death in the parking lot of City Liquors (formerly the Inter- state Lounge) last week.
Detectives learned that
Noland had shot Fussell in the foot following an argument six months ago, and she was due to appear in court for that inci- dent.
Detectives also learned that Lemaire had been seen with Noland, and that they were staying at the Tampa Stadium Hotel.
Surveillance was conducted at the hotel, and officers said they went to the room where Noland was staying, and found Lemaire after they forced their way into the room.
A search of the room re- vealed Noland had locked himself in the bathroom. He eventually surrendered, and was taken into custody.
Detectives have not released any information on Lemaire at this time.

Four Charged With Using Stun Gun To Discipline Children
Detectives Ask For Help In Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect
Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay reports that on July 26th at 4:25 p.m., a man walked into the Florida Central Credit Union, 3333 Henderson Boule- vard, approached a teller, im- plied he was armed, and threatened to hurt her if she did not give him money from the register.
Detectives said the man put the money into a bag and fled the credit union on foot.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 5’8” to 5’10”, with a thin build and was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, long dark shorts and white shoes.

St. Petersburg Police Major Crimes Unit detectives have ar- rested John Martin Riggins, 37, on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
Detectives said Riggins set his girlfriend, Sheron Pasco, 37, on fire inside their home at 2800 24th Avenue, South, just before 8 p.m. on July 5th.
According to a relative of Pasco who witnessed the inci- dent, Pasco was covered with gasoline, and Riggins took a lighter and set her on fire. The relative said he saw Pasco run- ning from the room, covered in flames from her head to her toes.
Pasco is still in critical con- dition as she continues to strug- gle to recover from her burns.
Riggins was booked into jail without bond on the charge.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports that two men have been arrested on child abuse charges.
Detectives said Eduardo Vazquez, 22, and William Torres-Morales, 22, used a stun gun on seven children at their home on Skye Place.
Detectives said Vazquez and Torres-Morales admit- ted to using the device on the children as a form of discipline and even as a punishment when some of the children couldn’t complete enough pushups.
Detectives said the children range in age from 7 to 13. Bruises were found on the chil- dren as a result of the stun gun.
Investigators also arrested
women who lived in the home. Detectives said Elizabeth Tarvin, 33, and Veronica Sanchez, 32, knew the men were using a stun gun on the children, but didn’t do any- thing to stop it and didn’t re- port it.
Vazquez and Torres- Morales were each charged with nine counts of contribut- ing to the delinquency of a minor, and seven counts of ag- gravated child abuse.
Tarvin and Sanchez were charged with nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and nine counts each of negligent child abuse.
The bonds for the four range from $62,000 to $544,000.
Man Charged With Using Booster Club Card For Personal Expenses
The Polk County Sheriff’s Of- fice reports that a man has been charged after a school’s athletic booster club card was used for almost $10,000 of personal purchases.
On Tuesday, Aaron Wilborn, 33, was arrested and charged with scheming to de-
fraud and grand theft.
An investigation revealed that
from 2014 to 2015, Wilborn used a Kathleen High School Athletic Booster Club’s debit/credit card for $9,800 of personal expenditures.
Wilborn has posted bond and released from jail.
Detectives aren’t clear when Wilborn began serving on the board as President, but prior to June 29, 2015 he was asked to

step down from the board by the other members, who sus- pected he was misusing the funds.
The board members con- tacted the Polk County School Board and asked them to con- duct an audit.
