BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor

According to the Sher- iff’s Office, the “Office of the State Attorney has declined to prosecute the shooter for homicide in the death of Jayquon Johnson as they have found there is in- sufficient evidence to rebut Cody Quinn’s claim of self-defense.”
The Investigation Jayquon died of a gun- shot wound on January 1st. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting took place in the 4500 block of Cabbage Palm Drive, in Valrico. They were notified of the shooting at 1:35 p.m. When deputies arrived at the
scene, they discov- ered that Jayquon John- son had been shot once. He died at a local hospital
as a result of the injury.

he claimed self-defense. Police said two guns were found at the scene.
