Lakeland Branch NAACP Holds Freedom Fund Banquet
On Saturday, August 7, 2021, the President of the Lakeland Branch NAACP, Terry Coney, Dr. Shandale Terrell and 60 citizens attended the Lakeland Branch NAACP 74th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. The Theme for this year was “Free- dom Knows Only One Direction, FORWARD.” Florida Congressional greetings were presented by The Honorable Fentrice Driskell, Florida House of Representatives - District 63. The Honorable Val Demings, United States Repre- sentatives, Florida’s 10th Congressional District, was the Keynote Speaker. Entertainment was pro- vided by the TAABU Band, Ann Jones and Der- rick Buggs.
The Banquet was held at the Catapult Center of Lakeland, Florida. Corporate sponsors for the Lake- land Branch NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet were: The Lakeland Police Department, Lakeland Hous- ing Authority, Regal Automotive Group, Fields Motor Cars, Polk State College and the Polk County Board of County Commissioners.
