Another film with a predom- inantly Black cast opens in the- aters Friday. The Perfect Guy is a romantic thriller with several well-known Black actors in starring roles.
The plot of the film is: Lob- byist Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) has a successful ca- reer and a thriving relation- ship. She seems to have it all. Things come crashing down when Dave, her long-term
boyfriend, questions her future plans for marriage and a fam- ily. The resulting breakup leaves Leah heartbroken, until she meets the charming and handsome Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy).
Soon, the budding romance turns dangerous as Carter re- veals his volatile nature, forc- ing Leah to turn the tables on the man she thought was Mr. Right.
Proving to be quite the ren- aissance man, former NFL great and current Live with Kelly and Michael co-host, Michael Strahan will soon add the title of “executive producer” to his resume.
Strahan has signed on to serve as executive producer of a TV series in development that is based upon the hit SXSW short film Melville.
Melville, which world pre- miered in SXSW’s Texas Shorts Competition, centers on Mar- cus (Rodney Lucas), a man in his 30s, who resurrects his decade-old dream of becoming a hip-hop artist after being blindsided by a life-threatening disease.

Sony’s faith-based drama “War Room” has the edge on N.W.A biopic “Straight Outta Compton” with $9.3 million to lead the modest U.S. box office over the Friday-Sunday week- end.
“Straight Outta Compton”
took in $8.9 million at 3,094
locations in its fourth week- end, ending its impressive three-week winning streak at domestic multiplexes. Sony/Affirm’s “War Room” has continued to exceed pro- jections following its surpris- ingly robust opening weekend, when it took in $11.4 million.

Chris Brown Says He Was Not Scheduled To Perform At Black Gay Pride Event
Chris Brown says he never cancelled a show during ATL Black Gay Pride Weekend ... because he was never sched- uled to perform in the first place, but the event promoter claims otherwise.
Brown’s reps say he was in Atlanta for his "One Hell of a Nite" tour last weekend ... in a totally different venue from the Pride event, which was organ- ized by Traxx Girls, a lesbian owned and operated entertain- ment company.
Traxx claims it paid Brown to perform for the 4,000 women at the Georgia Freight Depot -- and when he no- showed ... Fetty Wap stepped in at the last minute.
Brown's people say the
CHRIS BROWN
event promoter's story is com- pletely fabricated ... claiming Traxx just slapped Breezy's name on posters and flyers to drum up interest in the show, and now it's just trying to save face with customers.
Traxx reps won't say how much cash they paid Brown ... oriftheyplantosuetogetit back.
Once again, rumors of drama and ratchet-behavior have emerged from the set of the “Real Housewives of At- lanta.”
This time, the foolishness involves bitter foes Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams. Both women are said to have been on a boat re- cently taping a scene for RHOA when they got into a heated discussion that esca- lated into Cynthia kicking Porsha in the stomach.
Bailey tried to diffuse the simmering tension by walking to the other side of the boat, but Williams followed. Williams was restrained by producers before she could re- spond.
Cynthia may not make it a full season, and she's already on the verge of following in Porsha Williams' footsteps -- as in, getting demoted.
In the wake of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" fight - - where Cynthia kicked Por- sha -- production sources tell us show honchos are review- ing footage of the incident and
