AIKENS
MRS. ELSIE LEE BREWSTER
A Homegoing Celebra- tion for Mrs. Elsie Lee Brew- ster of Tampa, Florida, who passed away, Tuesday, No- vember 19, 2019, will be held Saturday, November 30th, 11 a. m. at New Salem Mission- ary Baptist Church, 8525 N. 78th Street, Rev. Bernard Mc- Cray, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Elsie was born in Merid- ian, Mississippi on March 8, 1935 to the late Milton and Viola (Ruffin) Coleman. She enjoyed going on family out- ings, playing solitaire and crossword puzzles and watching the Family Feud game show.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, twin sister, Elsie Bee Brassfield; 3 brothers, Milton, Jr., Matthew, Sr., and Robert Coleman; 4 sons, Joe Nathan Brewster, James, Darryl and Dwight Brew- ster-Mosley; and grand- daughter, Shante Brewster.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Grady Brewster, Jr., Joann Brew- ster Bell, Joyce McCray, Rosie Lee Brewster, and Elaine Brewster; 17 grand- children, Kenny, Trenese, Joyce, and Grady Brewster, III (Peaches), Lakithia Dzi- adon (Joseph), Christina Surgeon (Linus), Terran Bell (Amiee), Teleah Bell (Tony), Antwaine Christopher (Jen- nifer), Kelvin McCray, John Shuler, Reginald and Ker- win Alexander, Donshea (Ja-‘mon) Hill, Mark Sher- man, Jr., Marquita Morgan (Stanley) and Arsenio Cos- ton (Samantha); 52 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard “Joe” Coleman (Elaine), Roosevelt Coleman (Eola), Larry Ruffin (Bertha) and Jerry Ruffin (Cynthia); sisters, Annie Kate Patton (Fred), Geral- dine Chappel, Evelyn Conaway, Jeanette Clark and Maxine Hall; sisters-in- law, Joyce Coleman and Dorothy Coleman; 52 nieces and nephews; 114 great nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends, who will dearly miss her.
The visitation will be held Friday, November 29th at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p. m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.
m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.

MRS. GLADYS LORENE HANKERSON WHALEY
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Gladys Lorene Han- kerson Whaley of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, will be held on Saturday, No- vember 30th, 10 a. m., at 34th Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th Street, Bishop Thomas Scott, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mother Gladys Hankerson Whaley was born to the late Thomas and Estella Hanker- son on May 23, 1932 in Sam- son, Alabama. The family relocated to Lakeland, Florida, then settled in Tampa in 1943. A graduate of Middleton High School, class of 1949, she received her ca- reer training at Brewster Vo- cational School.
In Tampa, she met and married Lamar Whaley, Jr., and to that union six children were born which signaled a dedication to family coupled with a commitment to heal- ing. Her healthcare career spanned over 40 years as a nurse and health technician at the Hillsborough County Hospital, the V. A. Hospital, and the Sickle Cell Associa- tion.
The 34th Street Church of God is the Spirit based home to her family, where Mother Gladys served faithfully in leadership posts as a trustee, leader, and a member of the finance committee. Her hands were always at work, from showing off the prod- ucts of her green thumb to de-
signing arrangements for her floral business. Those tal- ented, healing hands touched family, church and commu- nity in special ways.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Wha- ley, Jr.; son, Lamar Whaley, III; parents, Thomas and Es- tella Hankerson, Sr.; broth- ers, Thomas Hankerson, Jr., Alfonso Hankerson; son-in- law, Ronald Christi; adopted daughter, Carmen Johnson and nephew, Eric Lewis.
Memorable moments re- main in the hearts and minds of her loved ones: children, Leonard Whaley (Jennifer), Gregory Whaley (Pricilla), Sabrina W. Christie, Paul Whaley, Veronica D. Whaley, Yvonne Wilson and Rev.     A Homegoing Celebra- tion for Mr. Joseph B. Napier of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019, will be held Saturday, November 30th, 2 p. m. at Aikens Fu- neral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Timothy Lan- caster, officiating.
Joseph B. Napier was born April 18, 1941 in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Mabel Napier. He was a neighbor- hood handy-man and en- joyed helping others, and the sport of bowling. Joseph was a Member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, and son, James Napier.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories with: his wife, Bettye A. Napier; chil- dren, Yolanda Napier, Toni Napier and Darryl Napier of Baltimore, MD; 2 grandchil- dren, Yovonni Lee and Yas- mine Lee; great-granddaughter, Emani Davenport; sisters, Lena Hunn of Danville, KT, Mary Radcliff of Nashville, TN and Delores Lowery of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; sisters- in-law, Wanda Mundy and Arnetta Mays of Kentucky and brother-in-law, William Mundy (Toya) of Hender- sonville, TN; special friends, Rico Holton (Jackie), George Nix, (Nathalene), Linda Hill and Delores Grayson.

Homegoing Celebration for the Life of Mr. John “Nunnie” Edward Morris, who answered his call to come home on Sunday, No- vember 17, 2019, at LifePath Hospice Inpatient Unit at Tampa General Hospital, will be held Sat- urday, November 30, 2019, at 3 p. m., at Harmon Fu- neral Hom, 5002 N. 40th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610. Interment will be made in Orange Hill Ceme- tery.
John “Nunnie” Edward Morris, age 62, was born on October 5, 1957 in Tampa, FL (Hillsborough County), where he grew up in the Progress Village and Jack- son Heights communities.
John was educated in the public schools of Hills- borough County and at- tended Tampa Bay Technical and C. Leon King High Schools.
John accepted the Lord early in life. He was a past member of Gregg’s Temple AME Church throughout his walk in Christian faith.
Preceding him in death are: his beloved and cher- ished mother, Mrs. Alma Gallon Morris, two cher- ished sisters, Mrs. Devora “Dee” Solomon, and Cheryl Morris-Stanley.
John leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: loving father, John- nie Lee Morris; loving sis- ter Alfreda L. Boman; devoted brother-in-law, Taylor L.
