Sold Out Show Goes On After Chris Brown’s Arrest
A 29-year-old popular en- tertainer was arrested Thurs- day night. Chris Brown was released after he posted a $2,000 bond. Friday night, Brown performed to a sold- out crowd of screaming fans at Mid-Florida Amphitheatre as part of his “Heartbreak On A Full Moon Tour.”
Acc0rding to the Palm Beach County Jail Blotter, Brown was arrested on an out-of-county warrant Thursday night. He was per- forming at the Coral Sky Am- phitheatre, 601 Sansburys Way, in West Palm Beach, when he was taken into cus- tody.
The warrant had been is- sued by Hillsborough County in connection with an inci- dent involving Brown last year. He was charged with felony battery.
The Tampa Police De- partment stated in a news re-
lease that on April 17, 2017, Brown allegedly punched a photographer while at Club Aja, 290 S. Meridian Avenue. The victim is listed as Ben- nie Louis Vines, 28, of Tampa.
Brown had performed at the Amalie Arena prior to going to the club for the After Party.
Police said Vines stated he had been hired to take photographs at the event by Club Aja. He said Brown was sitting near him and that Brown motioned to Vines to move away. Vines told police that he moved away and attempted to tell Brown that he was hired to take pic- tures of the crowd.
Witnesses said Brown approached Vines, assumed a fighting stance, and punched Vines in the upper lip. Brown and his en- tourage then left the club.
Tampa Police responded to the club and conducted an investigation. The report was then forwarded to the Hills- borough County State Attor- ney’s Office, who reviewed the case and issued a warrant for Brown’s arrest on Au- gust 11, 2017.
