Ross Anderson,
founder of Men of Vision, Inc., turned the leadership roles over to his son, James Elaissaint-Anderson, at the end of the school year in 2018. And Elaissaint-An- derson wasted little time in taking over the day-to-day operations of the organiza- tion.
On Saturday, August 4th, at 10 a.m., Elaissaint-An- derson, Executive Director, will host the Back-to-School Kick Off Meeting and Infor- mational Session. The meet- ing will take place at the Skills Center Building, 300 E. Sligh Avenue.
Parents planning to at- tend the event must register at www.theskillscenter.org.
Their names will be shared with Feeding Tampa Bay for food boxes after the meeting.
However, Elaissaint- Anderson and his leader- ship team have not been idle. This summer he held work- shop throughout the month
of July on Financial Literacy. The sessions were held at Stetson Law School, with Brian Allen, of the 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay, conducting the Financial Lit- erary workshop.
Elaissaint-Anderson
also held workshops on such topics as “Social Justice and Injustice,” “Human Rights,” “Leadership,” and “What’s The Differ- ence Between A Man And A Boy.”
The Men of Vision organi- zation began on the campus of Sligh Middle School. Today, there are chapters on all levels of the public school as well as chapters on the campuses of charter and pri- vate schools.
Anderson said that while he is stepping into the background, he is not leaving the organization. He contin- ues to remain active channel- ing his efforts to raise scholarship funds for the young men.
