City Councilman Gudes’ Father To Be Laid To Rest
Students encouraged to submit essays, videos or drawings during Black History Month contest.
Hillsborough County stu- dents and teachers are invited to enter HART's Black History Month contest with a video, essays or drawings. HART's 2021 theme encourages repre- sentation, diversity, and iden- tity of 'The Black Family.'
Teachers, HART is asking you to share an educational video with your student or class which covers topics about 'The Black Family,' in- cluding heads of the family, types of family relationships, and various family back- grounds.
The HART-produced video also introduces youth to pub- lic transportation with a vir- tual tour around and inside a specially-wrapped bus. Local teachers are also given the op- portunity to invite HART staff to present the virtual tour video in their virtual class- room to allow for interaction.
Students can create a video, write a short story, or draw an illustration that coves 3 topics: one thing you learned about Ther Black Family from the HART video; describe your own family; how your family uses HART, or take a trip on HART together and share your experience.)
All entries must be received by Sunday, February 28, 2021, and will be entered into a raffle to win a HART 31- day pass. Four winners will be chosen.
All submissions may pick up a special Black History Month commemorative give- away with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Marion Transit Center (1211 N. Marion St.) or University Area Transit Center (13110 N. 27th St.) during window hours as a 'thank you' for entering the contest and encouraging civic involvement.
