Frederick K.C. Price, Crenshaw Christian Center Founder, Dies At 89
     LOS ANGELES -- Freder- ick K.C. Price, one of Los An- geles' most prominent religious leaders and founder of the Crenshaw Christian Center, has died from COVID- 19 at the age of 89.
Apostle Price, who led services in the landmark Faith- Dome for many years, died Fri- day evening, according to a statement issued by EIF Min- istries.
Price founded the Crenshaw Christian Center in 1973 and built it into one of America's first Black megachurches, with 28,000 members and an esti- mated 15 million households watching televised church services every week.
He was at times controver- sial - criticized for his teach- ings about the LGBTQ community and Islam.
The Price family founded the Frederick K.C. Price III Christian School in 1986, lo- cated on the sprawling campus of the Crenshaw Christian Center. The Crenshaw Chris- tian Center served as a coron- avirus testing facility and is

 Long-time actor and stand- up comedian Mike Epps announced via Instagram the passing of his father, Tom- mie Epps Sr., late night on last Thursday, Feb. 11.
In the post, featuring a pic- ture of the two hugging closely with smiles plastered on their faces, the Next Fri- day star lamented his fa- ther’s passing and expressed gratitude for the memories they shared.
“Big RIP to my DAD TOM- MIE L. EPPS SR. Thank you for life and all the great memories and lessons,” the 50-year-old wrote in the cap- tion of the tribute.
“He was a Hard worker, Good father, and God believ- ers,” Epps continued, “fly High king, kiss mama for me.”
The news of his father’s passing comes just six weeks after the death of his mother
in late December.

thank you for all the lessons and life it’s self you fought hard baby because of you I will never stop fighting in this thing called life,” Epps wrote in a heartfelt Insta- gram post sharing news of her death. “She loved her kids and family and we had good times with her this is not a good bye it’s a We will see you later.”

Price was born in Santa
Monica in 1932 and married his wife Betty in 1953.
Both he and Betty tested positive for COVID-19 in early January. Price spent weeks in the hospital.
He is survived by his wife, four children, 10 grandchil- dren and four great-grandchil- dren.
Cedrick ‘Swab’ Cotton Of R&B Group 'Ideal' Stabbed To Death In Houston

Cedrick ‘Swab’ Cotton, one-fourth of famed Houston R&B group Ideal was fatally stabbed on Tuesday (February 9) outside of the Fondren Food Mart in Southwest Houston.
Cotton was a frequent visi- tor of the Food Mart according to his mother. The 46-year- old’s body was discovered by onlookers, including his uncle. “I saw him just lying there. I couldn’t do nothing but just cry last night,” William King said.
Cotton played football at Lamar High School and formed Ideal with his older brother Maverick, their cousin Wayne “PZ” Perry, and J-Danté Green at the high school. The group re- leased their debut album in 1999 featuring the hit singles “Get Gone” and “Whatever.” The album went gold but un- fortunately, they never re- leased a sophomore effort before disbanding in 2004.
Maraj Killed In Hit-And-Run
Accident In Long Island
Nicki Minaj's father, Robert Maraj, was killed on Friday after he was struck in a hit-and-run accident in Long Island, New York, a rep for Minaj confirmed to PEOPLE. He was 64.
Nassau County Police said Maraj was hit by a vehicle in Mineola while on the road be- tween Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue around 6 p.m. local time, according to reporters, which also reported that wit- nesses were unable to give authorities a description of the suspect and Maraj was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his in- juries.
The incident remains under investigation.
