Black Men Arrested In Starbucks Finally Speak Out
Young Activist In Chicago Is Running For Mayor
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The two Black men arrested at a Starbucks in Philadelphia while waiting for a friend spoke out publicly for the first time last Thursday, revealing the store manager called 911 two minutes after they arrived.
Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson did exactly what they should have done follow- ing the Starbucks incident.
They met with the heads of the company, CEO Kevin Johnson and Executive chair, Howard Schultz, secured an attorney and made a grand ap- pearance telling their side on a national news show.
Nelson and Robinson walked into the Starbucks on April 12 at approximately 4:35 p.m., they told ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Nelson said he immediately asked the store manager, if he could use the bathroom, but was told restrooms were for paying cus- tomers only.

CHICAGO, IL — The city of Chicago could be getting a new mayor in 2019 and not just any mayor, but a millennial mayor.
Ja’Mal Green, 22, has en- tered the race to be Chicago’s next mayor and is deter- mined to bring change despite his young age. If anything he believes being a millennial gives him a better advantage in the race.
In an interview, Green ex- pressed, “Millennials all over the world are stepping up and taking charge.” He contin- ues, “In the environment, we’re in today, Chicago needs change, corruption needs to end, we need a modern ap- proach to politics in Chicago.”
Green wants to focus on making neighborhood schools stronger, invest in mental health centers, incorporate a better system to monitor po- lice, decriminalize marijuana and get elected boards for Chicago schools.
On April 6, Green’s team filed papers with the Illinois State Board of Elections to bring his campaign committee Green For Chicago to life. Green was the CEO of Majos-

At 4:37 p.m., approximately two minutes after they had ar- rived, the manager called 911.′′
They can’t be here for us,” said Robinson, recalling his initial reaction when police of- ficers entered the Starbucks a few minutes later.
n’t explain why they were being arrested, Robinson said.
The store manager, Holly Hylton who called 911 has since left the company, according to Starbucks, but now wants to sit down and make amends with the two men, says Starbucks ex- ecutive chairman Howard Schultz. Schultz was trying to do his due diligence by clean- ing up the situation following the nasty backlash Starbucks received after the two men were arrested without cause.
According to reports, the for- mer manager, Hylton has a history of racist behavior to- wards Black customers and staff in the past.

A big supporter of Bernie Sanders, Green took a liking to his 2016 presidential cam- paign style of grassroots poli- tics. He’s been handing out flyers at bus stops around the city.
Green will have to se- cure 12,500 signatures in order to get onto the mayoral ballot and can begin on August 28.

Investigated For Dragging
NASHVILLE, TN—- A man- hunt is underway in Tennessee for a central Illinois man who police say opened fire with an assault rifle at a Waffle House restaurant, killing four people. Travis Reinking of Morton, Illinois is on the loose after he shot an “assault-type rifle” and killed two people outside the Waffle House, police said. Then Reinking entered the restau- rant and unleashed more shots.
“He then went inside the restaurant (and) continued fir- ing,” killing two more people.
A 29-year-old male patron wrestled away the gunman's rifle, police said, and suffered minor injuries. The patron ran to the restaurant's restroom area and watched the shooting. When he saw Reinking look- ing at his rifle, he rushed him. He got the gun away from Reinking and threw it over
the counter."
James Shaw, Jr., 29, took
matters into his own hands and stop what could have been a unbridled massacre.
“He is the hero here, and no doubt he saved many lives by wrestling the gun away and then tossing it over the counter, and prompting the man to leave,” police say.
As of Monday, Reinking had not been caught.
MEMPHIS, TN — A white Memphis elementary school teacher is under investigation after a child recorded him dragging another child off a school bus by his feet last week. A representative for Shelby County Schools says that stu- dents from Robert R. Church Elementary School had gotten into a fight, and the teacher had boarded the bus to intervene.
But video appears to show a tense situation made worse. Several children cowered in their seats as the unidentified teacher grabbed one student, who thrashed and screamed for his mother while the teacher pulled him down the aisle and off the bus ― mostly while the child was upside-down.
The student was identified as the 7-year-old son of Memphis resident, Kimberly Hardin. She shared the footage publicly on her Facebook page on Mon- day, encouraging others to

DALLAS, TX —- Letters with a check for $5,000 from South- west got mailed out to some passengers aboard Flight 1380 that took an emergency landing in Philadelphia according to CNN.
