Man Killed In Hit And Run Accident At Busy Intersection
Police Investigate
Death Of Tampa Man As A Murder
Law enforcement is cur- rently investigating the death of a 52-year-old man. He was killed in a hit and run traffic accident Wednesday night at the intersection of North Ne- braska Avenue and E. Craw- ford Street.
According to the Tampa Po- lice Department, Willie James Bacon, Jr., was struck by a Ford Explorer as he walked in the roadway on Nebraska Avenue. The impact from the accident caused him to land in the southbound lanes of Nebraska Avenue, where he was immediately struck by another vehicle.
Ms. Laquita Jackson, 42, of Tampa, who was the driver of the Ford Explorer stopped and waited at the scene. However, the driver of the second vehicle struck Bacon as he lay in the street, and fled from the scene. Bacon died as a result of his injuries.

On Monday evening, Tampa Police responded to 4928 Chari- ton Avenue, in the Wellswood area to conduct a “wellness check.” Once they entered the home, they discovered the man who lived there was dead.
Detectives have not released the cause of death of 53-year- old William L. McGoff. How- ever, they have labeled his death as a murder. Investigators said McGoff’s 2013 Hyundai is stil missing. The vehicle is black in color and has a Florida license plate of 113VFT.
Officials said the murder does not appear to be random and the victim may have known his assailant.

Men Linked To Tampa Gun Shop Burglary Facing 40 Charges

Three men are currently being held in the Hillsbor- ough County Jail on bonds of more than $100,000. The men were arrested earlier this month in Orange County.
According to jail records,
Boniface Ben Denavard, Jr., 22, of Orlando, is facing more than 30 counts of grand theft of a firearm. He is also charged with other crimes and is currently being held on a bond of $117,500. De- navard was arrested on De- cember 7th, in Orange County.
Jail records show Gabriel Longley, 18, is also facing more than 30 counts of grand theft of a firearm. He is also charged with other crimes and is currently being held on a bond of $117,500. Longley was arrested on December 7th, in Orange County.
On December 1st, police ar- rested James Alexander Moore, 18, of Orlando. He is also facing more than 30 counts of grand theft of a firearm. He is also charged with other crimes and is cur- rently being held on a bond of $195,000. Moore was ar-

A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the three are linked to the recent burglary of a Tampa gun shop.
At the time of the burglary, police said between 8 and 15 suspects rammed the glass front window of the building with a vehicle to gain access. They removed more than 40 guns before fleeing the scene.
Last Wednesday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office inves- tigated the theft of a vehicle left running at a convenience store. During their investiga- tion, they learned the sus- pects were Javon Joachin, 16, and 17-year-old De- Shawn Miller. The teens were also arrested on an ac- tive warrant for first-degree murder from Orange County.
After taking the teenagers in, police discovered that a handgun stolen in the bur- glary of the gun shop was in Miller’s possession at the time of his arrest.
The investigation is contin- uing.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently try- ing to identify a man who robbed a woman in North Tampa. The offense took place Monday morning.
According to police, the woman was at the corner of E. Fletcher Avenue and N. 20th Street when a Black man ap- proached her. He took personal items from the victim and fled from the scene on foot. He was last seen running eastbound through the Avesta Apartment Complex.
He is described as 6’4” tall, weighing about 220 pounds. He had a short afro and full beard.
