Tampa Woman Stars In TV Drama About Emmett Till
Vivian Fleming-Alvarez is a powerful actress steadily climbing the ladder of success in Hollywood.
Her role as Lizzie Wright in the ABC his- torical drama "Women of the Movement,” a limited series event based on the true story of Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley. Wright cared for Till the night he was ab- ducted.
The first season of the TV drama "Women of the Movement” tells the story of the racially motivated murder of 15-year-old Emmett Till.
"I am the mother of boys," Fleming-Al- varez has stated. "I am the mother of brown boys. And I know the fear.”
"Women of the Movement" airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on ABC.
Fleming-Alvarez is a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader. She is since worked in theater, TV, and film — acting, directing and more.

The City of Tampa Black History Committee (COTBHC), Inc. presents its 34th Annual Black History Celebration taking place on February 1, 2022. The pro- gram will be at 11 a. m. at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin Street, Ball- room C.
This year’s theme is “Hid- den Figures: Celebrating Our Unsung Heroes.”
“Part of the vision of COTBHC is to acknowledge the work and talents of City employees and to inspire peo- ple throughout Hillsborough County to internalize positive lessons from the past in order to do something distinctive and helpful in the present and our honorees are examples of just that,” explains Celeste- Gibbons Peoples, Presi- dent, COTBHC.

the City of Tampa employees and residents of
