Suge Knight’s Trial Delayed Until Spring 2017
Beyoncé Leads Grammy Nominations With 9
Suge Knight is walked into court.
Beyonce is nominated for 9 Grammys, lead by ‘Lemonade’and ‘Formation’.
Death Row founder Suge Knight’s murder trial will be pushed back beyond its origi- nal February 22 date as his legal team makes moves to get his $10 million bail re- duced. His lawyers now ex- pect the trial to go ahead in May of next year.
According to the New York Daily News, Knight’s fiancée Toi-Lin Kelly has said the legal team intends to draw on “subpoenaed check, new eye- witness testimony and con- tinued health issues” in order to bring the bail down to a more affordable figure.
“Suge is really willing to go to trial tomorrow,” she told the publication. “That’s how much compelling evi- dence we have. We are very ambitious about moving for- ward to trial.”
Knight appeared in court on Tuesday (December 6) and told Judge Ronald Coen that he had agreed to
delay his trial for the pur- poses of filing the bail mo- tion. His bail was reduced to $10 million from $25 million in April 2015.
Knight stands accused of the murder of Compton busi- nessman Terry Carter and the attempted murder of Cle “Bone” Sloan, who had been security staff on N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Comp- ton.
Knight has pleaded not guilty on both counts, claim- ing that Carter and Sloan were killed and injured as a result of Knight defending himself. Knight also claims that Dr. Dre attempted to have him killed. One of Knight’s lawyers, Duane Folke, who joined the team on Tuesday has said that they are “working diligently” to back up Knight’s claims and that there is “definitely some connection to [Dre].”
The Grammy Awards may come down to a battle of the superdivas. Beyoncé leads the nominations for the 59th annual Grammys, announced on Tuesday, with nine nods for her album “Lemonade.” But in each of the three top categories she will square off against Adele, who was nominated five times.
Both women had extraordi- nary years. “Lemonade,” an ambitious album and film, tackled issues of race and in- fidelity, and its release be- came the kind of all-consuming cultural phe- nomenon that perhaps no artist but Beyoncé could
muster. Adele’s album “25” sold more than 10 million copiesin less than a year, a blockbuster that eclipsed all others.
With enormous commercial success and the adoration of fellow musicians, those stars represent the very best of how the music industry sees itself, which should make their competition tight. “Lemon- ade” and “25” are both nomi- nated for album of the year, and Beyoncé’s track “For- mation” will go up against Adele’s “Hello” for both record and song of the year.
Rihanna and Drake both had 8 nominations.
Big Skye was a member of 2Pac’s Thug Life group.

After the dissolvent of Thug Life, Himes embarked on a solo career and was promi- nently featured on 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me album, most no- tably on the title track and fan favorite record, “Picture Me Rollin’.”
Over the course of his career, Himes released four solo proj- ects, including a self-titled 2002 release on Rap-A-Lot Records. According to his Wikipedia page, Himes’ last release was a 2007 mixtape. Last year, a trailer for a film ti- tled Last Thug Standing ap- peared online but not much else is known about the project.

Jhene Aiko’s PETA Campaign after being chosen the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity’.
The always ethereal Jhené Aiko has been named PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2016. The Twenty88 mem- ber stripped down to the very last fiber for a sexy photo shoot for PETA’s anti-fur campaign with the tagline #DropTheFur being her guideline.
Aiko attributes her vegan lifestyle to a scary hospital visit a couple of years ago where the doctors told her “she was eating things” that probably didn’t bode well with her stomach. Ever since then, you can miss her with anything that has to do with the killing of animals.
