Tyler Perry And Benjamin Crump Offer $200K Reward For Info On Missing Men In Florida
Tyler Perry joined famed criminal attorney Benjamin Crump earlier today to announce that he’s upping the reward for any info that leads to solving a mysterious case of 2 missing men in Florida.
The case is also interest- ing because a former cop is the main person of interest.
Perry made the an- nouncement in Naples, FL and he’s offering $200K for any help in the cases of the missing Collier County men — Felipe Santos and Ter- rance Williams.
Santos went missing in October 2003 and Williams in January 2004 and here’s where the ex-cop, Steven Calkins, comes into play. Calkins, a corporal with the Collier County Sheriff’s office at the time, is supposedly the last person to see them both alive.

in trying to solve the mysteri- ous disappearance for years, already offering a $100K re- ward before doubling it Tues- day to $200K. He’s also close to Williams’ mother, who was also at the press confer- ence as well.
Crump announced that on top of the reward money, Williams’ family is filing a wrongful death suit against Calkins in hopes of getting testimony out of him.
The former cop was seen
pulling over Williams in 2004 near a cemetery, but originally told another cop Williams’ car was aban- doned. He even denied hav- ing any contact with Williams, but later his story changed and he said he dropped him off at a Circle K gas station.
The story of Santos’ dis- appearance is eerily similar to the Williams case. Calkins was dispatched to the scene of a minor car acci- dent involving Santo who was allegedly arrested for driving without a license. But Santos was never booked at the local jails. Calkins told investigators he dropped him off at a Circle K as well.
Calkins was never charged in either case, which has been cold for nearly 15 years now. He was fired for lying, though and the Sher- iff’s Office says he is still a person of interest.
Nicki Minaj Gave Away $250K In Scholarships On ‘Ellen’ Season Premiere
Billionaire Bob Johnson Denied Entry To His Luxury Hotel Room
Bob Johnson, B.E.T’s co-founder, was refused ac- cess to his room at a luxury hotel in Florida last week be- cause he was wearing sun- glasses, RawStory reported.
Johnson was checking into his room at the Eau Palm Beach hotel on August 24 after a fishing trip when a re- ceptionist asked him to re- move his sunglasses.
The media mogul, who be- came the first black billion- aire after selling BET in 2001, refused to take them off be- cause they’re prescription, he

told WPBF.
“She said well, I can’t
check you in if you don’t take
off your glasses,” he said. Johnson asked that the police be called and when no compromise was reached, he left the hotel, the report
states.
An Eau Palm Beach
spokesperson said it’s “stan- dard operating procedure” in the hospitality industry to ask guests to remove sunglasses for their “safety,” but John- son — who owns 165 hotels — said that’s not true.
“I think it’s a silly rule,” he said, “and I think it has over- tones of racial profiling.”
This week Nicki Minaj took over at ‘Ellen.’
During Tuesday’s season premiere, Nicki Minaj had a full sit-down on the daytime talk show, where she opened up about a lot, including her love life and showdown with rapper Travis Scott after her album Queen debuted at No. 2 behind Travis Scott’s Astroworld on the Billboard 200.
When host Ellen De- Generes suggested she was being a sore loser about com- ing in second place Minaj re- sponded, “Why do people say things like upset or angry? When someone says how they feel, they’re not always upset or angry.”But then seeming to completely contradict herself she admitted, “I felt like I wanted to punch him in his fu**ing face,” she said, adding, “It’s not anger. It’s just what’s right and what’s wrong.”
“I’ve had a No. 2 album and I never cared,” she con- tinued. “It’s just that when you have a No. 2 album to someone who’s selling shirts and merch and selling passes for a tour that’s not even an- nounced yet, it feels like you’re being tricked. It feels like someone is playing a game as opposed to just sell- ing music. I wanna sell music.”
“I don’t like being bullied and I don’t like being taken

advantage of, and sometimes people use scare tactics against you because they know, especially as a black woman, that people will call you angry or bitter. So now, it’s almost like we’re not al- lowed to defend ourselves or stand up for ourselves. I’m not gonna have that.”
During the segment, Minaj also surprised three fans by partnering with Ellen and Walmart to give away $50,000 to help them pay off their student loans. She also presented a check to a nurs- ing student, joking that she’s “coming to her in three years.”
Mike Colter (‘Luke Cage’) Apologizes For Joke About Ariana Grande Being Groped
Here we are a week later, and Ariana Grande is still making news. In this case, we have the star of Netflix’s Luke Cage star, Mike Colter, say- ing he’s sorry for a tweet he posted about Miss Grande seemingly getting groped at Aretha Franklin’s fu- neral.
Grande, as the whole world knows by now, per- formed Aretha’s classic (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman after which Bishop Charles H. Ellis, III put his arm around her, resting his hand against the right side of her chest,

right under her breast.
“Now THIS is how you
shoot your shot! Zero F***!” Colter wrote in a tweet that
has since been deleted. He was responding to a message originally posted by come- dian Trevor Noah that had drawn attention to the place- ment of Ellis’ hand.
Colter has since released a statement in apology:
“Hello all. I apologize about my tweet earlier. In no way do I condone any such behavior. It was intended to point out the absurdity of the act itself. Complete and bit- ing sarcasm. I realized quickly that it was not taken as such.”
So far, Grande has yet to comment on the situation.
