A Time To EXHALE
Shaw-Nuf Talk invites you to join Yours Truly in ‘A Time to EXHALE.’ We have been waiting for a while. Now that November 8th has come and gone, we can EXHALE. At the age of 57, I cannot re- call a Presidential Campaign such as the 2016 one. EX- HALE...and let the healing begin.
Community Networking Meeting Held
Each month, the United Way of Central Florida, 5605 U. S. Highway 98 South in Highland City, hosts its Agency Connection Meeting. These meetings offer oppor- tunity for agency representa- tives to share information about the services that they provide to families in need. In a recent meeting the spotlight agency was the Leland Family Ministries & Mosaic Café.
Libbie Combee ren- dered an overview of the free services that are available to persons who meet the eligibil- ity criteria. Leland Family Ministries provides numer- ous services to the commu- nity through its Recovery for Life Program, The Meth Free Project, The Handyman Min- istry, the Food Pantry & Warehouse, and Mosaic Café.
Some of the participating human services representa- tives in attendance were: John Quirk, Esther Eu- gene, and Nadia Dawes (St. Vincent de Paul); Janey Stratton and Sheryl Sharp (Peace River Center Victim Services); John Hurt (Cen- ter for Independent Living); Anita Melton (Children’s Medical Services); Sheila Bishop (Early Learning Coalition of Polk County); Vi- vian Swanigan (United Way of Central Florida); Angie Vega (Florida Rural Legal Services; Liz Herrera and Terre Anne Lind- staner (Florida Ombudsman Program); and Ermelinda
Centeno (Central Florida Healthcare, Inc.).
Also in attendance were:

Hird, Sr. and his lovely wife, Caroline of Lake Wales, as they celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22nd; to Deacon Ruben Allen and his beau- tiful wife, Mae of Tampa, cel- ebrating another year of marital bliss on Nov. 24th; and to Elder Neal Phillips and his lovely wife, R. Regina, as they celebrate another year of Holy Matrimony together on his birthday (Nov. 30th)!!!
May the Lord continue to bless each of these unions with many, many more years of togetherness.

Thursday November 17th, Kimberlee Mayes, Title 1 - Reading Coach, invited Dr. Shandale Terrell to be the guest speaker at Rochelle School of the Arts during the “Great American Teach-In.”
Dr. Terrell’s speech moti- vated, encouraged, and in-
spired the middle school stu- dents to achieve academic suc- cess. Dr. Terrell also informed the group of stu- dents: “It is vital to develop goals for higher learning or the workforce; while displaying good behavior in and out of the school setting.”
