 Police Continue Search For Missing Boater
Law enforcement launched a search for a missing Tampa man on Saturday. His family reported him missing after not being able to contact him.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office began searching for Eugene Wilson near the Bypass Canal Saturday. A fam- ily member had dropped him off at the dock on the Bypass Canal around 8 p.m., Saturday. However, they were unable to contact him for several hours and contacted police around 4 a.m., Sunday.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and Aviation Units were activated. Upon arriving in the area, deputies located a capsized jon boat in the canal and located fishing gear nearby.
However, they were unable to locate Wilson. The search for Wilson is continuing and no additional information has been released by the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office.
USF School Of Pharmacy ‘We Care’ Program Talks About COVID Vaccine

USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy, led by Dr. Kevin Sneed, has started a new program to provide an- swers about the COVID vac- cine. The program is a collaboration between USF Health Taneja College of Phar- macy's WE-CARE program and REACHUP, Inc. The pro- gram aims to bridge the gap between underserved commu- nities and access to health care. WE-CARE’s mission is to increase the representation of diverse populations in clinical research.

to receive the COVID vaccine among vulnerable communi- ties, especially minority com- munities.
Many people in minority communities remain appre- hensive about receiving the COVID vaccine. Through an authentic community partner-
ship between Taneja College of Pharmacy and REACHUP, hundreds of key community leaders have been educated via virtual education sessions. Prevention strategies, includ- ing vaccines, have also been discussed. Every individual reached by the partnership has had their questions and con- cerns addressed.

       Ed Johnson, CRA Manager, Announced His Retirement
 Ed Johnson, the Commu- nity Redevelopmen Agency Manager, announced last week that he is retiring. He said in a statement:
“I would like to personally thank all of you for allowing me to serve you the past 17 years. However, the time has come for me to RETIRE. My last day serving as the CRA Man- ager for East Tampa will be De- cember 31, 2020. I informed the Community Advisory Com- mittee this (Tuesday) morning and the CRA Board will be no- tified this afternoon. Again, thank you for supporting me.”

   East Tampa House Fire Claims Life Of Elderly Man
 A 93-year-old Tampa man died early Saturday as the result of a house fire. The fire at 1306 E. Cayuga Street, was re- ported shortly after 3 a.m.
According to
the Tampa Fire
Department, when firemen arrived at the home, the single-story structure was fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread to a parked recreational vehicle next to the home.
Firemen had to battle the intense heat before they brought it under control enough to enter the home. Once inside, they discov- ered the elderly man deceased.
The victim has been identified as Elwood Guenther. His death is attributed to the fire. It was brought under control shortly before 5 a.m.
   An electrical fire at this home at 1306 E. Cayuga claimed the life of an elderly Tampa man.
