3 Teenagers Drive Stolen Car Over Another Car
STOLEN CAR
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, three teenagers stole a car and then drove it over another car. The second car was not occupied at the time.
Police said the owner of the Toyota Camry parked his car at 19- 1 53rd Street, N., and went inside of the business to get a cup of coffee.
When the man came outside shortly after 7 a.m., Friday, his car was not where he had parked it. The man then observed his car about a block away in the 5200 block of 20th Avenue, N., on top of a parked vehicle.
After the car wreck, three teenagers escaped from the car and ran. Police responded to the scene and arrested tw0 15-year-olds, and a 16-year-old a short distance away. The unidentified teenagers were charged with grand theft auto.
The name of the owner of the Camry was not released.

Black Girls Cruise Planned
ATLANTA, GA — Cruise Planners franchise owners, Daryl and Cheryl Mason, announce their inaugural event, Black Girls Cruise – a women’s networking and em- powerment cruise with the theme “Ladies of Distinction – Women Empowered”. The ports-of-call are Labadee, Haiti, Cozumel, Mex- ico, and Falmouth, Jamaica, with three days at sea. Cruise prices range from $747 to $997 per person. Price includes all fees, taxes, and port charges. A deposit of $250 per person is required by May 15. Payment plans are available, and all major credit cards are accepted.

Location Changed For First Girls Summit
The location of the First An- nual Girls Summit, entitled “You Deserve to be Loved,” being held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, has changed loca- tions. Catering to girls from six to twelfth grade, the event is from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. and will be held at Hillsbor- ough Community College Brandon Campus Student Services Building, 10414 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33619.
The goal of the summit is to empower young ladies with tools that enhance their self- esteem and teach effective strategies in conflict resolu- tion, entrepreneurship, and positive social skills.
Not only is this summit geared towards reaching young ladies, but also women who are notable in their ca- reers with relatable experi- ences and similar challenges as the young girls. Many of the youth attending will come from single parent house-
holds, low income neighbor- hoods, or have suffered some form of abuse or unthinkable heartache.
The You Deserve to be Loved
summit is designed to em- power and uplift these young ladies in a safe and construc- tive environment. The event is open to all ethnicities and faith based backgrounds.
From thought-provoking panel discussions to prizes and breakout sessions, this much needed event will feature classes and resources in the areas of self-esteem, conflict resolution, workforce readi- ness, and will include a fashion show to remember. Girls will also have a chance to get makeovers and a special ses- sion for parents will be offered as well.

Tampa Housing Authority To Host Earth Day Celebration
Shuttle Program Offered
To Downtown Employees
Last Thursday, the Community Redevelopment Area Board voted to give the Tampa Downtown Partnership more than half of the funds needed to launch a shuttle system for indi- viduals working in downtown Tampa. The system could be- come operational before the end of summer.
Members of City Council, operating as the Community Re- development Area Board approved $550,000 of the $1 mil- lion needed to provide the service. It will offer rides from remote parking lots to locations within downtown. The shut- tle will be operational from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., weekdays and 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on weekends.
The shuttle system will be an app-based program. It joins a new app program known as Zipcar, to help eliminate the issue of parking spaces in downtown.
The on-demand service will launch with 12 vehicles, with each able to transport 6 people. The riders will be able to order service anywhere in the downtown or on Harbour Island.
The Zipcar charges a monthly or annual membership fee. It is expected to be offering service in the near future.
On Friday, April 22nd, members of the Tampa Hous- ing Authority will host their Inaugural Earth Day Celebra- tion @ Encore! The event will take place at 1101 E. Ray Charles Boulevard, in front of the Reed, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Embracing the theme, “Seeds for a Sustainable Tampa,” the Tampa Housing Authority will be presented with the “Water Star Award.” The presentation will be made by the Southwest Florida Water Management District in recognition of water conserva- tion and efficiency initiatives. The initiatives helped reduce dependency on the Florida Aquifer.
This event will showcase the
Authority’s premier commu- nity by offering guided tours of the community’s chiller plant, the storm water collection vault, and the electric car charging stations.
The chiller plant provides chilled water throughout the 40 acre site as well as the air conditioning system for all vertical buildings.
The storm water collection vault supports the irrigation of the entire property.
The solar panel array pro- vides lighting throughout the property, and the electric car charging stations, along with other sustainability features.
The event is open to the public. Everyone who attends will receive a packet of seeds to plant a flower garden.
Howard W. Blake Class Of 1971 To Host Cookout
On Saturday, April 30th, a big cookout has been scheduled for the 1971 graduating class of Howard W. Blake High School. The event is being planned by the male graduates, who have offered to supply all of the meat necessary for a big barbecue. They ask that the ladies bring side dishes, such as baked beans, potato salad etc.....
