Jury Convicts Getaway Driver In Armed Robbery
Child Protection Supervisor Arrested For DUI

A 37-year-old Child Protection Investigations Su- pervisor was arrested for DUI Sunday evening. The arrest took place shortly before 6:30 p.m., on U. S. Highway 19, just south of State Road 580, in Pinellas County.
According to police, Ms. Samantha Lynn Krenek, 37, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count of driving under the influence. In addition to being arrested, Ms. Krenek was also terminated as per the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office policy.
She was stopped by deputies after they observed the 2019 In- finiti sedan driving at excessive speeds and not staying in a sin- gle lane.
She was hired in 2005 and was a supervisor with Child Protection Investigations of Pinellas County.

A federal jury has con- victed a man on armed rob- bery charges. He is accused of being the getaway driver in the crime. The trial lasted five days.
Dajor Marquis Atkins,
27, of Tampa, will be sen- tenced on December 4, 2019. He was found guilty of one count of conspiring to inter- fere with interstate commerce by robbery; one count of in- terference with interstate commerce by robbery; one count of brandishing a firearm during the commission of a vi- olent crime; and one count of possessing a firearm and am- munition by a convicted felon.
On June 2, 2018, Atkins served as the lookout and get- away driver while Riley Har- ris, 24, entered the AT& T Store, 21561 U. S. Highway 19, North in Clearwater. Harris held the employees at gun- point, forced them to open the

inventory storage locker, and cash registers. He then tied the hands and feet of the em- ployees with packing tape.
Once the employees were secured, he removed $47,000 in cash and merchandise be- fore fleeing the scene. Atkins drove the two away from the store in the getaway vehicle.
Law enforcement tracked the vehicle and identified Harris and Atkins as the two men who robbed the store.
This was the only robbery that Atkins participated in. However, it was the fourth in a series of takeover robberies that Harris was accused of committing. The robberies began in December 2017 and continued until June 2018.
Harris previously pleaded guilty to committing the robberies. He is slated to be sentenced on Friday, Sep- tember 6, 2019.
Local law enforcement is attempting to identify a man who attacked a store clerk. The incident took place last Saturday morning.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 11:30 a.m., on August 31st, a man entered the 7-Eleven Store, on Parsons Avenue, in Brandon. The clerk became involved in a verbal altercation with the unidentified man inside the business. The man is alleged to have spit in the face on the clerk and fled the scene in a silver Toyota Camry.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with bulk cash smuggling. He is facing a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison if con- victed.
According to the indict- ment, on August 13, 2019, Ahmet Sakarya attempted to board a flight from Tampa International Airport to Frankfort, Germany after falsely declaring that he was only carrying $14,000 in U. S. Currency.

tion, U. S. Custom and Bor- der Patrol officers discovered that Sakarya was transport- ing $55,000 in cash that was hidden in his luggage.

A 23-year-old police officer was arrested early Sunday morning. He was charged with D.U.I.
According to a press release, Tampa Police Officer John Arthur Hildenbrand was ar- rested shortly before 3 a.m., Sunday, at the intersection of Dr. M. L. King, Jr., Blvd., and Beechwood Blvd., by the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice.
Officer Hildenbrand has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Officer Hildenbrand was hired by the Tampa Police Department in October 2018. No additional information was available at press time.
