Service, Achievement, Leadership And Testimony Celebrated
Happy 4th To You All!!
Celebration Held In Honor Of Founding Mother
On the evening of Saturday, June 4th, service of appreciation was held in honor of Mother Princess Fortson, the Founding Mother of Victory Temple Church of God by Faith, in Lakeland, Florida. Mother Fortson, a Woman of Valor, under the guidance of our Lord and Savior began this work more than 30 years ago.
Her children: Ann, Elnora, Naomi, Jill, Arthur, Elmar, Jeremiah, and Jerome (Pastor Jerome Fortson) were great workers (sometimes not by choice) in the early ministry.
Pastor Mattie Johnson
opened the 2016 Worship Celebration setting the tone of the evening as Devotional Leader. Dr. Rudolph W. Berry, who was introduced by his wife, Mother Marvine Berry, served as Master of Ceremony. A Prayer was lifted by Mother Margaret Faison. Ruling Elder James E. Williams, III read the scripture reading “The Virtuous Woman”, taken from Proverbs 31. Mother Regina Phillips, the First Lady of Victory Temple, expounded on the occasion and extended a warm welcome to all.
Mother Mary McElrath rendered a beautiful reading; reflective expressions were given by Mother Rose Wilson; and a Tribute to the Honoree was given by Sister Frances Lee Flowers. The Praise and Worship Celebration was elevated with higher songs rendered by: Sonshine of Faith Choir, Citadel of Life Church, Johnnie Marshall, Ruthenia Lewis, Deacon Gene Bell & The Holy Propheteers, Diane Ashley, Victory Praise Dancers, and of course, The Fortson Singers. Mother Phillips introduced the speaker, Elder Neal T.
Phillips, who delivered Words of Exhortation.
After the appreciation presentation by Mother Phillips, Women of Honor, and Jill Glass, remarks were given by the Honoree, Mother Princess Fortson. On June 1st, Mother Fortson celebrated her 92nd birthday. And she gives God all the glory, honor and praise!
