Natural Ways To Boost Your Libido Part 1
It’s Extremely Hot This Summer:
The best defense is pre- vention. Here are some tips:
• Drink more fluids (nonal- coholic), regardless of your activity level. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink. Warn- ing: If your doctor generally limits the amount of fluid you drink or has you on water pills, ask your doctor how much you should drink while the weather is hot.
• Don’t drink liquids that contain alcohol or large amounts of sugar–these ac- tually cause you to lose more body fluid. Also, avoid very cold drinks, because they can cause stomach cramps.
• Stay indoors and, if at all possible, stay in an air-condi- tioned place.
• Electric fans may provide comfort, but when the tem- perature is in the high 90s, fans will not prevent heat-re- lated illness. Taking a cool shower or bath, or moving to an air-conditioned place is a much better way to cool off.
• Wear lightweight, light- colored, loose-fitting cloth- ing.
* NEVER leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle.
If you must be out in the heat:
• Limit your outdoor activ- ity to morning and evening hours.
• Cut down on exercise. If you must exercise, drink two to four glasses of cool, nonal- coholic fluids each hour. A sports beverage can replace the salt and minerals you lose in sweat. (Warning: If you are on a low-salt diet, talk with your doctor before drinking a sports beverage).
• Try to rest often in shady areas.
• Wear a wide brim hat, it keeps you cooler.
• Always wear sunglasses.
Will This Common Spice Help You Lose Weight And Keep Your Diabetes In Check?
You Should Know To Prevent Illness
Take a Bite Out Of A Forbidden Fruit
Little evidence supports the effectiveness of certain foods, but there’s no harm in experimenting.
Figs, bananas, and avo- cados, for example, are con- sidered libido-boosting foods, known as aphrodisi- acs.
But these foods also pro- vide important vitamins and minerals that can in- crease blood flow to the genitals and promote a healthy sex life.
Indulge In All Things Chocolate
Throughout history, chocolate has been a symbol of desire. Not just because of its delicious taste, but be- cause of its power to improve sexual pleasure. According to one study, chocolate pro- motes the release of phenylethylamine and sero- tonin into your body. This can produce some aphrodisiac and mood-lifting effects.
According to another study, the effects of chocolate on sexuality are probably more psychological than bio- logical.
Take Your Daily Herbs
Next time you decide to sit down for a romantic din- ner, add a little basil or gar- lic to your dish. The smell of basil stimulates the senses. Garlic contains high levels of allicin, and increases blood flow. These effects may help men with erectile dysfunction. Ginkgo biloba, an extract derived from the leaf of the Chinese ginkgo tree, is another herb found to treat antidepressant-in- duced sexual dysfunction.
Fighting Fat
Several studies have been published regarding the weight loss properties of cin- namon.
This includes it’s unique ability to be used for Type 2 diabetes which is a disease often resulting from obesity.
When ingested, the spice seems to slow down glucose absorption within the intes- tines while stimulating in- sulin production. This normalizes blood glucose levels which in turn can indi- rectly decrease weight gain.
Amomon means “fragrant spice plant” in Arabic and Hebraic and in Italian, canella means “little tube”. These are a few of the many terms given to the popular spice known as cinnamon. Dating back as far as 2800 B.C., Chinese writings describe cinnamon as an important part of the cul- ture, so much so that over the years this spice was traded right up there with silver.
team nutritionist Tara Ostrowe says “Cinna- mon really is the new skinny food...Scientists already credit cinnamon in helping lower blood sugar concentration and improve insulin sensitiv- ity.
When less sugar is stored as fat, this trans- lates to more help for your body when it comes to weight loss.”
Talk to your doctor about incorporating daily cinnamon into your healthy diet and ex-
