‘Souls To The Polls’ Initiative Planned For Sunday
Names Of Mother, Child Killed In Shooting Released

Several organizations have joined forces to host a “Souls To The Polls” vot- ing initiative. Two polling lo- cations have been selected to place special emphasis is being placed on during Early Voting.
This event is designed to encourage citizens to cast their ballots for the General Election. The Election will take place on Tuesday, No- vember 6th.
The first location the or- ganizations, that includes the Hillsborough County Branch NAACP and the Tampa Bay Coalition of Clergy, are ask- ing members of the commu- nity to cast ballots the Cyrus Greene Community Cen- ter, 2101 E. Dr. M. L. King, Jr., Blvd. This location was chosen to replace the C. Blythe Andrews, Jr., Public Library, Tampa, 33610, which is under construction. The second location is the West Tampa Branch Public Library, 2312 W. Union Street, Tampa, 33607.
The “Souls To The
Polls” voting initiative will take place from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., at each location. How- ever, registered voters can cast ballots at any of 20 loca- tions throughout Hillsbor- ough County from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Early Voting Locations
Early Voting began on Monday, October 22nd, and will end on Sunday, Novem- ber 4th, at 7 p.m. Registered voters can cast ballots at any location during the Early Voting period.

On Sunday, a young mother and her son died in their apartment. The mother’s boyfriend has been charged with the murders.
The victims have been identified as Ms. Stephanie Ann Willis, 34, and her 10- year-old son, Ricky Willis. Both died of gunshot wounds in their apartment at 4302 Mariner’s C0ve Court, in Tampa.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 42- year-old Tyrone Terell Johnson and charged him with 1 count of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, 1 count of second-de- gree murder, and shooting within a building. He is cur- rently being held at the Hills- borough County Jail without bond.
Deputies responded to the apartment shortly before 7 p.m., Sunday, in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, Johnson was still at the apartment.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that Ms. Willis and her son, Ricky, were both dead inside the apartment.
Detectives interviewed Johnson and later charged him. No additional infor- mation has been released.
Ricky Willis was a 5th grade student at Crestwood El- ementary School. The Crisis Team was on campus to assist students and adults handle the tragedy.
