Conversations Aim To Strengthen Father, Son Relationship
When I Need to Forgive
It amazes me, Lord, that You love me so much that You would sacrifice Yourself so I could be forgiven completely. Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself. Thank You that You love me, even though You have seen me at my worst. Help me to be that same way toward others. Thank You, Heavenly Father, that You are rich in mercy and grace toward me, and Your love and mercy are everlasting. Help me to become the loving and forgiving person You want me to be.
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. EPHESIANS 4:32
Lord, I worship You for who You are. I praise You, my precious and loving God of forgiveness. Thank You for for- giving me. Where would I be without You setting me free from the consequences of my own sin? Lord, I surrender to You everything that is in my heart. I want to be a forgiving person so I will always be forgiven (Matthew 6:14-15). Take away anything in me that separates me from You and hin- ders my knowing You better. Pour out Your Spirit upon me in a fresh new way and reveal anyone or anything that I have not forgiven. Shine Your light into the corners of my heart and reveal anything that is not of You.
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression. PROVERBS 19:11
Progress Village native, JaLem Robinson, has cre- ated “B.U.B.B.A.” (Brothers United Building Brothers Al- liance) to empower local males.
On Saturday, August 8th at 10:30 a. m., B.U.B.B.A. will be hosting Father 2 Son: Crucial Conversations, a 3-part series for fathers and sons to come together and discuss the im- portance of the male relation- ship to the youth. The second series, “Finding Solutions,” will be held at Hillsborough Community College’s Ybor Campus-Student Services Building.
JALEM ROBINSON
The series aims to provide a space for participants to speak up and have crucial con- versations about boys and
men; unite fathers and sons; and address the social, psycho- logical and emotional issues faced by African American men in the community.
Robinson, a recent Uni- versity of South Florida gradu- ate, said his vision is for young males in the community to have role models outside of what they see on the street, te- levision, music or social media.
“It’s too much going on out there with our people, with our youth, and with our communi- ties. If we don’t do something about it, who will?”
This event will include a panel discussion with guests, including Pastor Antonio Hawkins, Exciting Faith Alive Church, Attorney Artist Hicks, King High School English instructor Jobie Robinson, speaker Esque Dollar and more.
Free health screenings will be conducted by Villa Phar- macy, and other resources will be available from HCC as well as legal, finance and career representatives.
