On Wednesday night, the House of Representatives passed both articles of im- peachment against Presi- dent Donald Trump. He is accused of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. President Trump is the third president in history to be impeached.
Some members of the Tampa community shared their opinions on the im- peachment process.
State Rep. Dianne Hart said, “I
don’t think

Trump has taken this coun- try to a completely new low. His being impeached is sad, but necessary. He has to learn he can’t just do what he wants to do.”

think it was
the right di-
rection to
go. No one
person can
dictate the
law. We are
governed by
the laws and
the U. S. WASHINGTON
Constitution.”

and 1989.
A third round pick by the
Cincinnati Bengals in the 1990 NFL draft, Clark spent 2 seasons with the Bengals, one year with the Seattle Sea- hawks, and also spent time in the Arena Football League with the Orlando Predators.
Clark has been involved in coaching young men for many years. He has held coaching positions at Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland, FL, James Madi- son University, Liberty Uni- versity, Florida Iternational Univ. (2 stints), University of South Florida, Hampton University, University of Pittsburgh, Colorado State University, and the Univer- sity of Albany before joining Robert Morris University.
Clark is married to Tammy Clark. He is the son of Tampa residents, the late Mr. Bernard Clark, Sr., and Mrs. Theresa (Peaches) Clark, and nephew of Wilbert and Pa- tricia Malphus, Sr., and he has several other Tampa relatives.

said, “It’s

used to
seem like

itself when
you do wrong. But I’m glad we didn’t have to wait a long time.
“Not only is he wrong and not admitting it, he is trying to get others to side with him. No one is above the law. If that had been President (Barack) Obama, it would have been done with.
“I also would like to thank House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for standing her ground. That’s what standing your ground means, holding fast to what you believe in.”
Members of the House voted 230-197 to impeach President Trump. Rep. Collin Peterson and Rep. Jeff Van Drew voted against both articles. The vote followed an intense 6- hour debate.
The next step in the im- peachment process is for proceedings to go before the Senate, where a trial is ex- pected in January 2020. The Senate will decide whether to convict President Trump and remove him from office.
A Tampa native made the list of finalists for the 2019 STATS FCS Eddie Robinson Award.
Robert Morrison Univer- sity made the announcement a couple of weeks ago that their head football coach, Bernard Clark, Jr., was a finalist for the award. The winner of the award, an- nounced last week, was Sacramento State College head coach, Troy Taylor of the Big Sky Conference.
The honor is presented annually to the NCAA Foot- ball Championshiup Subdivi- sion’s Coach of the Year. This award along with several oth- ers will be presented at the STATS FCS Awards Banquet in Frisco, TX on January 10th, the eve before the NCAA FCS national championship game.
Clark, in his second year as the coach of the Colonials of Robert Morrison Univer- sity, ended the year with a 7- 5 overall record and 6-1 in the Northeast Conference.
He was named the third head coach in the University program’s history, two years ago on December 19, 2017.
A graduate of A. P. Leto High School, Clark matricu- lated to the University of Miami, where he gradfuated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Ad- ministration. He is said to have been a key contributor at linebacker for the Hurri- canes as they claimed the na- tional championship in 1987
