    Future Is Now For
 Jameis Winston
Despite It Not Being
Entirely His Fault
If the weight of being a franchise quarterback weren’t enough for Jameis Win- ston, it may have gotten a lit- tle weightier after three interceptions, two of them pick-sixes, and a 45.4 passer rating in the first game of a make-or-break season.
Winston has to do better against the Carolina Panthers (today) Thursday night. Win- ston stated he's looking for- ward to playing against his old teammate Gerald McCoy.
The Bucs promoted Dirk Koetter in 2016 to save Win- ston. They fired Koetter and hired Bruce Arians in the offseason for the same reason.
Time is ticking on Win- ston as the Bucs’ quarterback of the present and of the fu- ture.
Arians now is charged with putting Winston back together after the mess left be-

hind Sunday. He started that process by publicly proclaim- ing that it wasn’t all Win- ston’s fault.
Richard Sherman’s
pick-six was the fault of re- ceiver Mike Evans, and tight end O.J. Howard had a ball bounce off his hands.
Nonetheless, Winston is the one whose future is on the line. The Bucs need to see a different result if they’re going to commit to him long term.
  Bucs Re-Sign Safety
Adams Who Led The
Team In Interceptions
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed safety Andrew Adams, who led the team in interceptions with four last year, including a career-high three against Carolina in a 24- 17 victory last December at Ray- mond James Stadium. Adams was signed in-season last year due to injuries at the safety po- sition and that’s the case once again as his arrival coincides with the team putting Justin Evans on injured reserve with a foot injury.
Adams was a restricted free agent this past offseason, but was not tendered an offer by Tampa Bay. Instead, he was signed by Detroit, but didn’t make the Lions’ 53-man roster.
In addition to his four inter-

ceptions last year, Adams had nine pass breakups and 38 tackles as a part-time starter in Tampa Bay’s secondary, playing in 13 games. The 5-foot-11, 205- pound Adams played two sea- sons with the New York Giants (2016-17) to begin his NFL ca- reer.
