Progress Village Celebrates Christmas
New Year Of Faith, Meet The Williames
Progress Village celebrated Christmas on Saturday, December 8th with a party for the kids in the Progress Village community and surrounding areas.
The party was sponsored by Progress Village Civic Council, Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department and Bay Area Brotherhood Association.
The event took place at the Emanuel P. Johnson Community Center with over 150 kids and adults in attendance. Highlights of the events were the games, food and visit by Santa.

2019 S.W.E.E.P. Program Collection Service Slated To Begin
The City of Tampa Solid Waste and Environmental Program has announced the first Collection Service Date for its S.W.E.E.P. Program. The first collection for the New Year will take place on Monday, January 7, 2019.
The program offers City of Tampa residential customers a one-time courtesy curbside bulky debris collection serv- ice. The service will be of- fered in different neighborhoods throughout the year.
Residents can look up their scheduled collection dates through an interactive residential S.W.E.E.P. map located on the department’s website at www.Tampagov.net/Solid- Waste. The complete list of program requirements can also be found on the website.
Requirements for collec- tions are as follows:
Items must be placed curbside, no later than 8 p.m., Sunday night and no
earlier than (5) five days prior to the first day of thee week for your scheduled col- lection.
Piles should not exceed 10 cubic yards to avoid addi- tional disposal costs.
Items placed in front of vacant homes or lots will be treated as illegal dumping and investigated by Code En- forcement.
For safety reasons, items blocked by vehicles or other objects will not be collected.
Acceptable
Items Include: Barbecue grills, toilets, car- pet, tires without rims (up to 4 tires total), and yard waste
(cut down to 4 feet).
