90th Birthday Celebration
There are 90 reasons for Ms. Sara Wilder to be happy. That’s how many years she’s lived with us, and her family showed their de- votion and appreciation by giving her a big birthday party. (PHO- TOS BY JULIA JACKSON)
Airman Completes Basic Military Training
Airman Colin A. Schuele has completed all basic military training requirements to serve in the U. S. Air Force. Airman Schuele graduated at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman Schuele completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in mili- tary discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He also earned four credits toward an associ-
ate in applied science degree through the Commu- nity College of the Air Force.
Airman Schuele is the son of Rita and Glenn D. Schuele, of Tampa. He is the brother of Samantha L. Schuele of Navarre, grandson of Marita D. Carozza, of San Antonio, and husband of Devan B. Schuele, of Tampa.
Airman Schuele graduated from Freedom High School in 2012.
Reserve Enlistee Completes Basic Training

Private Anthony Ramos has completed all basic infantry training requirements to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve. Private Ramos par- ticipated in his graduation ceremony that took place recently at Fort Jackson, in South Carolina.
During the nine weeks of training, Private Ramos studied the Army mission, history, tra- dition and core values, physical fitness, and re- ceived instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching,
rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed com- bat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Private Ramos is the son of Maria Villa- fone and David Ramos, of Bajadero, Puerto Rico, and the nephew of Carlos Ramos, of Tampa.
He graduated from Escuela Superior Voca- cional Antonio Lucchetti, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in 2014.
Bay Area Enlistees Excel In Navy
Three young adults from the Tampa Bay Area have be- come members of the U. S. Navy. Each enlistee has a dif- ferent assignment.
PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS IGNACIO CASTANON
Petty Officer 2nd Class Ignacio Castanon is a 2007 graduate of Brandon High School. A Tampa native, he is currently serving with a U. S. Navy helicopter squadron that flies the Navy’s newest and most technologically-ad- vanced helicopter.
Petty Officer Castanon
is a logistics specialist with the “Airwolves” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 40, a Mayport, Florida based squadron that operates the Navy’s next generation submarine hunter and Anti- Surface Warfare helicopter, the MH-60R Seahawk.
As a logistics specialist, Petty Officer Castanon is responsible for material readiness and making sure the squadron has everything needed for supplies and parts for the helicopter as well as managing the squadron’s budget.
Serving in the Navy, Petty Officer Castanon is learn- ing about being a more re- spectable leader, sailor and person through handling nu- merous responsibilities.
PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS JOSHUA FALZONE
Petty Officer 2nd Class Joshua Falzone is a native of St. Petersburg and a 2005 graduate of Dixie Holland High School. He is currently serving with Naval Beach Group TWO (NBG 2).
Petty Officer Falzone is a gas turbine systems me- chanic with the beach group operating out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A Navy gas turbine systems mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repair on gas turbine en- gines.
He serves with ACU 4 who operate the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and provide combat ready craft that fully meet operational tasking worldwide, on time, every time.
Although NBG 2 is made up of four separate commands, they all work together to com- plete their mission of provid-
ing the Navy personnel and equipment to support an am- phibious operation or exercise.
PETTY OFFICER 1ST CLASS SAMANTHA ROSELLO
Petty Officer 1st Class Samantha Rosello Iis a 2003 graduate of Hillsborough High School. She is currently assigned to serve with a U. S. Navy helicopter squadron that flies the Navy’s newest and most technologically-advanced helicopter.
Petty Officer Rosello is an aviation structural me- chanic with the “Air Wolves” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 40, a May- port, Florida based squadron that operates the Navy’s next generation submarine hunter and Anti-Surface Warfare hel- icopter, the MH-60R Seahawk.
As an aviation structural mechanic, Petty Officer Rosello is responsible for structural repair and mainte- nance of the hydraulic and flight control systems of the MH-60Rs.
Petty Officer Rosello is learning about being a more respectable leader, sailor, and person through handling nu- merous responsibilities.
Ms. Wilder’s pastor and his wife, Rev Zachery and Mrs. Freddie Hudson attended the celebration.
Attending the celebration were Elizabeth Harris, Clara Wardlow, and Ron Wardlow.
