Haskins Turning Heads At Redskins Minicamp
DWAYNE HASKINS
The scene was different for a Washington Redskins rookie minicamp, with three dozen or so media members attend- ing. It's been seven years since they entertained that sort of gathering for a rookie mini- camp. But the Redskins have a quarterback as their latest symbol of hope: Dwayne Haskins.
The Redskins don't yet know if Haskins will start this season, as coach Jay Gruden has said there will be an open competition for the No. 1 job. They do know, how- ever, that after two days of rookie minicamp, Haskins has impressed.
Klay Thompson: Warriors Still ‘Desperately’ Need Kevin Durant Back
KEVIN DURANT
The Golden State War- riors’ win over the Houston Rockets on Friday night con- vinced some that they don’t need Kevin Durant, but you won’t be hearing that from in- side the locker room.
Klay Thompson, who hit a key shot down the stretch to finish Houston off, said the Warriors “desper- ately” need Durant back for the remainder of the playoff run, calling him the team’s best player.
There’s a case to be made that the Warriors don’t really need Durant to retain the title, but for whatever criti- cism there is of him out there, they are better off if they can turn to him. It’s unclear when they’ll get him back, but there is certainly a chance he could suit up for them in the West- ern Conference Finals.
Steph Curry Seemingly
   BEAUTY UNLIMITED
HIKARI
Once again, things are heating up, so what better time than to feature Hikari. Remember, the best settles for nothing less, so Hikari fits right in with that philosophy. When it comes to being innovative, no one is better than Hikari. This young lady has so much confidence in herself, she’s always confident there’s no task she can’t accomplish. She also is strong enough to take on chal- lenges alone. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t need help every now and then, and thanks to her friends and family, she gets a lot of support. Congratulations, Hikari, for allowing us to feature you once against as our Beauty Unlimited feature.
  Responds To Chris Paul
Kicking Him Off Court
Chris Paul and the Rockets say the reports of Stephen Curry being kicked off the Toyota Center court before Game 4 of the Western Conference semifi- nals have been overblown, but Curry’s reaction seems to indicate there was more to it than the Houston side is letting on.
Marcus Thompson, II
of The Athletic reports that Warriors team manager Eric Housen booked some time from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Toyota Center courtprior to Game 4 so Curry could work on his shot. When Paul found out about the practice session, he suppos- edly showed up and gave Curry the boot so he could work on his own shot — even
STEPH CURRY
after Curry offered to stick to one half of the court.
Paul and others with the Rockets have disputed that Curry was kicked off the court. Houston developmen- tal coach Irv Roland told Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle on Satur- day that there were no issues and that Paul and Curry even joked with one another.
   Kyrie Irving Reportedly
Has Interest In
Joining Lakers
Could Kyrie Irving be ready to reunite with Le- Bron James? That seems like a possibility.
Both Irving’s Boston Celtics and James’ Los An- geles Lakers have seen their seasons end well before they would have liked. The Lakers didn’t even make the playoffs, while the Celtics under- achieved in the regular season and lost in five to the Milwau- kee Bucks in the conference semifinals. The disappointing finishes for both squads may convince them that the best place for each of them is teaming up.
ESPN’s Brian Wind- horst talked on his “Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Col- lective” podcast Friday and said that Irving has interest in playing for the Lakers .
“As time passes here, I would’ve said that this is im- possible for many months. But as time passes here and
KYRIE IRVING
as the possibility exists that Jason Kidd could be hired as the Lakers coach, I think the possibility of Kyrie and LeBron reuniting — that door, which was deadbolted, has been un-deadbolted and has now been cracked open ... It might even be opening more by the day. And I say that just because I think it’s on Kyrie’s radar, it’s on Kyrie’s board. He has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers,” Windhorst said.
