Heart Attack Ends Life Of Popular Tampa Woman

A heart attack has claimed the life of a well- known East Tampa woman. Ms. Linda Renee Black was 52-years-old.
Ms. Black was the youngest child of Mrs. Audrey Black and the late Andrew Lee Black. She was the mother of two children, Ashley and Jamal.
A Tampa native, she attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. While a stu- dent at Hillsborough High School, Ms. Black was a popular athlete playing softball, volley- ball, and basketball. She remained active throughout her life walking and riding her bi- cycle, her sister, Ms. Nita Black James said.
After graduation, Ms. Black entered the employment world. However, when her mother became ill, Ms. Black stopped work- ing and moved in to help care for her.
Her mother, Mrs. Black, has been hospi- talized for several weeks recently. When Ms. Ashley Black had not heard from Ms. (Linda) Black in a few days, she went to check on her last Thursday. Ms. Black’s death has been ruled as a heart attack by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Of-

fice and no foul play is suspected.
In addition to remaining active and helping
to care for her mother, Ms. Black enjoyed lis- tening to gospel music. She was of the Baptist faith and attended local churches.
Funeral services for Ms. Black were in- complete at press time.
Men And Women’s Health Forum Planned

On Friday, July 28th, members of the community will gather for the Monthly Men and Women’s Health Forum. The event will take place at 11 a.m., at the College Hill Church Of God In Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street. Superin- tendent Charles Davis is the pastor.
This month, the forum will focus on water consump- tion and safety. The organiz- ers are welcoming Ms. Lori Eddy and Michael K. Snow.
Ms. Eddy became affili- ated with Path 2 Water Group in 2009. “Marcus and I were led to this. We were in- troduced to a special form of water that profoundly changed our lives.” The en- counter was the beginning of the Path 2 Water Group. The company offers water tech- nology specifically designed to bring water into an opti- mum state for enhanced physical health.
She will share the benefits of her product and how it promotes healthy living with those in attendance.

The second guest speaker is Michael K. Snow, owner of Priority 1 Protection. Snow will talk about a device his company offers to help keep an individual safe or to bring help immediately in an emergency.

Police Continue Investigation Into Murder of Teenager
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the death of a 13-year-old girl. Her body was found by a hiker near Balm Riverview Road and the Triple Creek Nature Preserve, 13305 Balm Riverview Road, in Riverview.
Janessa Shannon had been missing for nearly two weeks when her body was disco- vered on July 12th.
Nashon Shannon told police he had last seen his daughter on July 1st at his Riverview home. Shannon reported her missing to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Chil- dren on Sunday, July 2nd. The following day, he reported her missing to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
After the teenager’s body was found, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Of- fice ruled her death as a homicide. A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Shannon was initially co- operative with the detectives during the inves- tigation. However, he has since hired an attorney and terminated all communication with the detectives.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its inves- tigation into the case. “The Shannon homi- cide investigation is still very active and ongoing. Numerous interviews have been con- ducted and dozens of evidence items have been sent to both the FDLE and private labs. HCSO continues to ask for the public’s help.
