Stevie Wonder To Pay Dead Lawyer’s Wife Royalties For Life
Ex- Basketball Wives Star Draya Tells Why She Left Show
After four seasons on Bas- ketball Wives: LA, Draya Michele is finally retiring from the show, explaining in a new interview that she’s ready to put the drama in her rear- view mirror and focus her at- tention on more positive things, including launching her own fashion line. Draya sat down with BET to talk about what she’s learned from being on “Basketball Wives,” and why she’s completely over it.
During Season 4 of the show, Draya was seen argu- ing with many of her co-stars, including professional basket- ball player Jason Maxiell’s wife, Brandi. About halfway through the season, she stopped making an appear- ance on the show, as IBTimes reports.
Draya also has a warning to those considering to broad- cast their life for all to see on reality TV.
“I don’t recommend doing it,” she says. “I think it ruins

families, relationships, work relationships. I think it tar- nishes your name.”
The former video vixen and mom of one has experienced her fair share of negative press lately, especially surrounding her volatile, on-off relation- ship with Dallas Cowboys star CB, Orlando Scandrick.
“It’s our choice what we de- cide to show to the world. I have no regrets about reality TV and I’m thankful for the opportunity,” Michele tweeted.
On their reality show, The Braxton sisters have been talking about recording an album together for a while now, and it’s come to pass...in the form of a Christmas album!
Toni, Tamar, Traci, Towanda, and Trina will
bring in holiday cheer with Braxton Family Christmas on October 30th when it arrives digitally and in stores.

STEVIE WONDER
Hmm, it’s been kind of a rough for Stevie Wonder, moneywise.
Earlier we reported that after years of delay, Wonder’s di- vorce from Kai Millard was fi- nalized with him agreeing to pay $25,000 a month in al- imony. Whoa!
Now it’s looking like he may be coughing up even more money, albeit reluctantly, be- cause back in the day he made a deal to pay a percentage of his royalties to his late lawyer’s family for all eternity. But Ste- vie says he wasn’t aware of the clause, and he sued to stop the payments.
Now, according to TMZ, Jo- hanan Vigoda’s widow, Susan Strack is calling BS on Stevie. She says Vigoda had a witness read the entire contract to Stevie — including the part where she would continue to get her husband’s 6% fee, even after he died. Ouch!!
In her legal docs, Strack ac- knowledges Stevie came back years later and contested the contract, but never got it done before Vigoda died. Her point is ... even though Stevie does- n’t like it, the contract is still binding.
Ciara Remakes Rolling Stones
Song; Announces Tour
Never thought Ciara and The Rolling Stones would be in the same sentence together, but CiCi is expanding her artistry. The “I Bet” singer re- makes the Rolling Stones’ 1966 song “Paint It Black” as a part of the upcoming film The Last Witch Hunter starring Vin Diesel.
In a statement, Ciara said she’s "honored to have been asked to cover such an iconic song by one of music’s greatest bands. 'Paint It Black' matches the film’s mystical and sus- penseful plot perfectly. The film and song have the magical recipe that combines romanti- cism with a touch of black! I cannot wait to see and hear the film and the song on the big screen with the rest of the world," she said.
CIARA
Along with gracing the soundtrack to The Last Witch Hunter, Ciara is also gearing up travel the U.S. on the sec- ond leg of her Jackie Tour. On Nov 27, the trek kicks off in her hometown of Atlanta (which will be streamed through the Live Nation Chan- nel on Yahoo!) and ends in Anaheim, CA on Dec 20th.
Speaking Of Basketball Wives: Shaunie Can’t Fire Me Says Ms. Brandi
Basketball creator and Exec. Producer Shaunie O’Neal and Brandi Maxiell.
Last Sunday night’s episode of “Basketball Wives LA” fea- tured an explosive moment between executive producer Shaunie O’Neal and series co-star Brandi Maxiell that ended with viewers wondering if Maxiell was fired from the show.
Brandi was feeling some type of way about Shaunie’s “attitude” toward her and the women on the show, and she vocalized her displeasure, going as far as calling Shau- nie a ‘B*tch’. Shaunie po- litely responded to Brandi
with, “Thank you for your services. Soon after the episode aired, Brandi took to Twitter to defend her actions and set straight speculation about her future on the show. While she hinted that she may have officially received the boot, writing, “I don’t care, she also suggested that Shaq’s ex-wife doesn’t have the power to fire her. “No shade,” she wrote, “BUT if someone had so much power I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t have seen a couple ladies on our Franchise.” Time will tell!
