Les Miller To Withdraw From Upcoming Election
    On Monday, Hillsborough County Commis- sioner Les Miller, Jr., announced his plans to retire at the end of his term. Additionally, he is withdrawing his bid for the Hillsborough County Clerk of Circuit Court Office.
During a telephone interview, Miller said, “I have prayed over this decision, I have talked it over with my family, and the time has come. I have given to the community for many years and I have more years behind me than in front of me.”
Miller also stated he only has one grand- child left in school. All the others have reached adulthood.
He further stated that he plans to just spend time with his wife, travel, and just enjoy what’s left of his life.

Mother Ruth Hodges is praising God for allowing her to see her 93rd birthday on September 22, 2019.
She says, “I miss my 9-year-old grandson, Keto, who was not with me for my birthday. He and his mother moved to Ken- tucky last month.”

    2nd Annual West Tampa Unity Festival Slated For Sept. 29th

The West Tampa CRA will host the second annual Unity Tampa Historical and Cul- tural Festival on Sunday, Sep- tember 29th at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, 1001 N. Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606, from 1 p. m. to 5 p. m.
The event is free to the public and will celebrate the history and cultural diversity of West Tampa. Visitors will enjoy food trucks, local enter- tainment, bounce house, local vendors, lawn games and more. Please join us for a day of history, culture, and fun.
The West Tampa CRA re- development area includes all public and private property located within its boundaries: North – West Columbus Drive; South – South Kennedy Blvd.; West – N. Ar- menia Ave.; and East – Hills- borough River.
