NFL Star Jordan Reed Retires At 30 After Troubling
JORDAN REED
Pro football tight end Jordan Reed announced his retire- ment from the NFL on Tuesday, citing the lasting symptoms of head injuries.
Reed, who played six seasons with the Washington Football Team and one with the San Francisco 49ers, sustained at least seven documented con- cussions, ESPN reported.
Reed received a brain scan at an Orlando, Florida, neurologi- cal facility in late winter and said the results led medical pro- fessionals to recommend that he stop playing.
“I agreed with them,” Reed told ESPN, adding that it took a while to make the decision.
“Before when I had a concus- sion I would feel better after- wards and I wouldn’t have lingering effects,” Reed said. “If I didn’t have any symptoms I would have kept playing. I’m OK with it because I know the reason why I’m making the choice is for family and my chil- dren, so I can be there for them. It’s just time.”
Reed, who also had concus- sions in college, has had per- sistent bouts of blurry vision, USA Today reported.
Reed had 355 receptions with 28 touchdowns in an in- jury-riddled career. He missed the entire 2019 season after a helmet-to-helmet collision in a preseason game.

Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, responded Wednesday to the backlash the Las Vegas Raiders received after tweet- ing, “I can breathe 4-20-21,” in response to the guilty ver- dicts of former Minneapolis police office Derek Chau- vin for the murder of George Floyd.
"On behalf of our family, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Las Vegas Raiders organization and its leadership for their
support of our family and for our nation's ongoing pursuit of justice and equality for all," Floyd said in a state- ment shared by the law firm representing George Floyd's family.
When Chauvin's trial came to an end Tuesday evening, an outpouring of condolences to the family of George Floyd began. But attention on social media quickly shifted to the Raiders when their post went viral.
Chad Johnson Paid A Fan $1,000 To Drive Him To Starbucks
The ever-charitable Chad Johnson took things to a new level on Saturday with a very hefty tip for someone who took him to Starbucks.
Early Saturday morning, Johnson tweeted that he was in Jacksonville and would pay anyone $1,000 for a round trip to and from Starbucks. There did not appear to be any strings at- tached.
Was Johnson serious? Apparently so. Less than an hour later, the longtime NFL wide receiver posted a pic- ture of himself in a car with a
