During a search of Brad- shaw’s apartment police lo- cated a handgun of the same caliber as the casing left be- hind at the scene of the homi- cide.

The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office has made a decision in a case against a for- mer Tampa Police detective. The agreement will allow her to par- ticipate in a pre - trial intervention program.
The agreement will allow Jarda Bradford to “accept re- sponsibility for her actions and participate in a Florida Depart- ment of Corrections pre-trial in- tervention program.
She was arrested earlier this year and charged with tampering with evidence and forgery. She was accused of having written the initials of another person on a group of photographs used to identify a suspect in a criminal case.
In addition to entering the pro- gram, Ms. Bradford has agreed to accept responsibility for the crime and sign a contract to enter the program. The program re- quirements include 18 months of supervision by the Florida De- partment of Corrections, 50 com- munity service hours, and payment of court cost. The agree- ment means no charges will be filed for tampering with physical evidence if she successfully com- pletes the program.
Ms. Bradford was termi- nated and remains subject to re- view by FDLE’s professional compliance process for potential disciplinary action. In addition, the State Attorney’s Office is re-

quired to disclose her conduct any time we prosecute a case in which she participated or is a po- tential witness. While her actions were deceptive and illegal, in the end, they did not compromise the prosecution of the case she was investigating at the time, State Attorney Andrew Warren said in a press release.
Attorney Warren further said, “Every officer --- every per- son --- knows it is against the law to forge someone else’s initials on a legal document. And from their earliest days on the force, every rookie officer learns it’s a crime to alter evidence in any way. This is not a lack of training at the de- tective level --- these are deci- sions even a first-year officer should not make, and they un- dermine the public’s trust in the entire justice system.”

A 24-year-old woman has been taken into custody in con- nection with the death of a Plant City man. The incident took place Sunday, shortly after 1:30 a.m.
According to the Florida High- way Patrol, a Patrol Sergeant was traveling eastbound on S. R. 400, just east of Mango Road. He clocked a silver Hyundai Elantra traveling westbound at 111 miles per hour.
The Sergeant pulled into the median and clocked the vehicle again traveling at the same speed. Without slowing down, the vehicle passed the Sergeant, who then turned to make a traf- fic stop on the Hyundai.
As the Sergeant was about to overtake the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Jennifer Caravajal, of Tampa, turned sharply to the right, entered the shoulder of the road, became air-

While still airborne, the vehi- cle traveled over a FDOT fence and collided with a Ford F250 pickup truck parked at Gator Ford.
Still in motion, the vehicle struck a concrete light pole and a palm tree before finally flip- ping over in the parking lot.
Investigators said three other
people were in the vehicle at the time. As the vehicle overturned, a 19-year-old male passenger, from Plant City, was thrown from the front passenger seat to the rear seats of the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospi- tal in serious condition. Two other passengers, a 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both from Plant City, were com- pletely ejected from the vehicle. Police said Ms. Caravajal was the only person wearing a seat belt. She was arrested and charged with reckless driving-se- rious injury, DUI serious injury, having no valid driver’s license, and violation of probation for DUI manslaughter.
