The late, great Maya An- gelou’s book “Music, Deep Rivers in My Soul” is a first edition book of her original po- etry with accompanying art and music. She inspired the renowned Artist, Dean Mitchell, to create six glori-
ous etchings for the book. She also inspired the acclaimed Saxophonist Wynton Marsalis to compose a musi- cal presentation to accompany the book. Artist Dean Mitchell has gifted a personal copy of this limited edition treasure to the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Library and we will unveil it and recognize the talented local artist himself.
