Outreach Mission Trip To Baton Rouge
New Mt. Zion M. B. Church members, Rev. Larry L. Roundtree, II, Pastor, left Tampa with a bus of individuals and a U-Haul truck loaded with supplies for the residents in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The group left on Sunday, August 28th and returned on Wednesday morning after spending 2 days helping dev- astated residents remove car- pet and drywall from their homes, while at the same time trying to salvage whatever they could. The group saw some of the devastated areas they had seen on TV.
More than 35 people an- swered the call from Pastor
New Mt. Zion’s First Lady, Mrs. Sameya Roundtree as- sisted with packing boxes.

Roundtree was on a preach- ing engagement in Houston, but drove to Baton Rouge on Monday to assist his congre- gation for 2 days.

ing, several persons gathered at New Mt. Zion, loaded the truck and the bus with water, non-perishable food, clothing, and cleaning supplies. (Pho- tos by Julia Jackson).
Longshoremen’s Fellowship Hour To Celebrate 38th Year Of Worship Service
The Longshoremen’s Fel- lowship Hour will celebrate 38 years of worship service this weekend.
On Sunday, September 25, 2016, the service will be held at 3:30 p. m. The service will be held at Mt. Tabor M. B. Church, 2606 W. Grace St., Rev. T. D. Leonard, Pastor.
The messenger for the service will be Rev. James T. Golden, Pastor, Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church in Port Tampa.
According to the history of the Longshoremen’s Fellow- ship Hour, the organization was founded in October, 1978 at Greater Friendship M. B. Church, Rev. Madison Mur- ray, Pastor. Alexander Cottman was elected as the first president. The current president is Samuel An-

the Vice President.
Mrs. Willie Nealey and
Mrs. Ruth Fleming encour- aged the men to form the or- ganization to cater to the Spiritual needs of this group of hard-working men who believe in God.
