Iranian President Hurls Insults At Trump In State Speech
  Michael Brown’s
mother, Lezley McSpadden is thinking about running for a seat at the City Council of Ferguson, Mo., St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Ferguson is the city where Brown was shot and killed by white police officer Dar- ren Wilson in 2014. The videoed shooting sparked formation of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement.
“What I’m contemplating is running for City Council of Ferguson,” McSpadden said during a panel discus- sion at Harvard University. “There are several people back home that are willing to help me get that going and make sure that I’m treated right.”
McSpadden was encour- aged by Benjamin Crump,

the family’s attorney, to re- veal her recent political plans.
“What a legacy that would be — elected to the City Council and supervising the same police department that killed her son, Michael Brown,” Crump added.
Ultimately, the loss of her
son and the treatment of Black people at the hands of the police spurred her pas- sion for wanting to get in- volved in politics according to report.
McSpadden has a good chance of winning, too, mainly because Ferguson has a majority Black population.
On Wednesday in a flaming speech on state TV, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani dismissed President Donald Trump as unqualified to deal with important international issues amid U.S. threats to po- tentially walk away from the landmark nuclear deal with Tehran.
Rouhani spoke after French leader Emmanuel Macron flew to Washington to meet Trump. Among Macron's aims was convinc- ing him to stick with the 2015 pact, which saw Iran sharply
curtail its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.
Rouhani, a reforming cleric, unleashed a series of in- sults during his speech.
You don't have any back- ground in politics. "You don't have any background in law. You don't have any back- ground on international treaties.”
Rouhani added: "How can a tradesman, a merchant, a building constructor, a tower constructor make judgments about international affairs?"
