Police Urge Parents To Get Involved During Spring Break
Law enforcement in Hills- borough County is encourag- ing parents to take an active role during Spring Break. Spring Break in Hillsborough County begins on Monday, March 13th and ends on Fri- day, March 17th.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wants parents to know: “Where their teenagers are going?” “Who they are going with?” And, “Is the activity the teenagers are participating in safe and age appropriate?”
A spokesperson for the
Sheriff’s Office offers addi- tional safety tips: have your child check in with you every few hours; know who they are hanging out with; if traveling who is the driver and is he or she responsible.
If they are going to a theme park or movies, make sure they have money. If they are going to the beach, then they should have plenty of water and sunscreen.
Parents should also make sure their child has a cell phone to communicate with the parents and check in throughout the day.
