Clergyman Releases His First Collection Of Sermons

On Friday, November 2nd, a local member of the clergy will host a book signing. The event will take place at 7 p.m., at Try Jesus Ministries, 4821 E. Busch Blvd.
During the book signing, Elder James Jefferson will be on hand to autograph copies of the book. Entitled “Try Jesus, Benefits From A Believer,” the book is a collection of letters written to the body of Christ. The book is designed to encourage spiri- tual growth among believers.
Elder Jefferson said he was inspired to complete the compilation after preaching some encouraging sermons.”
One of the sermons is enti- tled, “Can’t Undress In Front Of Everybody.” The book is a collection of 10 of his full length sermons.
A native of Ft. Pierce, Elder Jefferson moved to

Tampa in 1983 to attend school. Elder Jefferson said he received the Holy Ghost in 1996, under the leadership of the late Bishop John Forte.
In 1995, Elder Jefferson came under the leadership of Pastor Louisa Forte, founder and pastor of New Bethel Temple of Deliverance Apostolic Church. He was or- dained an Elder in 2000.
He has been in the min- istry for 25 years. He has been the pastor of Try Jesus Min- istries for 10 years. He was called to pastor in 2008, when he stepped out on faith and launched Try Jesus Min- istries.
He has served in numer- ous positions, including Brotherhood President, Church Administrator and Sunday School teacher for his local church. He has also served as the 6th Episcopal Brotherhood President and is the National Brotherhood President for the United Church of Jesus Christ Apos- tolic.
Elder Jefferson is mar- ried to First Lady Cassan- dra Jefferson. They are the parents of 5 children, and 17 grandchildren.
He enjoys drag racing, mo- torcycles and is a staunch sup- porter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
10th Annual Fall Festival, Trunk-O- Treat Planned
On Wednesday, October 31st, three organizations will come together to host the 10th Annual Fall Festival, Trunk- O-Treat event. It will take place from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at Good Earth Meat & Seafood, 5012 E. Broadway Avenue, Tampa, 33619.

founder of Children With A Vision, Inc., said prizes will be given for the most creative costume. She also said the children will go from vehicle- to-vehicle to receive the Hal- loween treats.
