Brain Bowl
Students Earn Prizes For Participating In Black History Brain Bowl
Middle and high school teams of students are currently preparing for the March 6th event.
The Hillsborough Alliance of Black School Educators (HABSE) in part- nership with Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and The Hills- borough County African American History Taskforce (HCAAHTF) has invited middle and high school stu- dents to participate in the 5th Annual Black History Brain Bowl Trivia Com- petition. The Urban League of Hills- borough County is the presenting sponsor of the event.
This event will be held virtually on March 6, 2021 at 10 a. m. Each school will select a team of 4 students and 1 alternate student who will showcase
their knowledge of current and past Black History.
Parents/guardians, teachers, ad- ministrators, as well as school district and community supporters will be watching virtually to cheer on the middle and high school brain bowl teams.
High school team members will receive awards and prizes for their ef- forts including: $1,000, $500 and $250.
-1st place team of five stu- dents, including alternate. (Each student will receive $100 and their school will receive $500).
-2nd place team of four stu- dents, including alternate. (Each student will receive $50 and their school will receive $250).
-3rd place team of four stu-
dents, including alternate. (Each student will receive $25 and their school will receive $125).
Middle School team members will receive awards and prizes for their ef- forts including: $500, $250, and $150.

-2nd place team of four stu- dents, including alternate. (Each student will receive $25 and their school will receive $125).
-3rd place team of four stu- dents, including alternate. (Each student will receive $15 and their school will receive $75).
All teams will receive participation certificates for each student.
