Diddy Sues Sean John For $25 Million For Stealing His Image

Diddy is taking Sean John to court.
The hip-hop mogul has filed a $25 million lawsuit against the fashion brand he founded, along with the com- pany’s owner GBG USA. Accord- ing to AllHipHop, Sean John launched a new women’s cloth- ing line with retailer Missguided and illegally used Diddy’s image, likeness, and persona without his permission.
Diddy sold Sean John to Global Brands Group in 2016. In the lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan on Thursday (Feb. 4), he claims Sean John, Miss- guided, and GBG fabricated
companies manipulated the press with false statements at- tributed to him.
“Diddy does not challenge [Sean John/GBG’s] right to use the Sean John trademark, but rather [Sean John/GBG’s] deci- sion to leverage a fabricated quote they created and then falsely attributed to Mr. Combs, and to use Mr. Combs’s name and other monikers to create the false and misleading impression that Mr. Combs is the decision-maker behind the designs and creation of the GBG Collection,” said Diddy’s lawyer Jonathan Davis.

Who needs a Grammy?
After his appalling shutout from November's Grammy Awards nominations, The Weeknd played the world's largest stage Sunday, headlining the Super Bowl 55 halftime show. With Vegas-style show- manship and velvety vocals, the pop/R&B superstar proved he's bigger than any archaic, out-of- touch awards show – even if he did occasionally get lost in the
busy spectacle.
The Weeknd (real name:
Abel Tesfaye) took over Ray- mond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, for a brisk 13-minute set, running through hits includ- ing the euphoric "Blinding Lights" and synth-driven "Save Your Tears" from his neon- drenched fourth album "After Hours," released last March. He also dipped into his back catalog for the hypnotic "I Can't Feel My Face," ominous "The Hills" and alluring "Earned It" from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sound- track. It was considered to be av- erage by other performers such as Prince, Beyonce or Michael Jackson.
Bucking Super Bowl tradition, The Weeknd didn't bring out any guests, despite having an ar- senal of fan-favorite collabora- tions with Ariana Grande

("Love Me Harder"), Daft Punk ("Starboy") or Kendrick Lamar ("Pray For Me"). That was a mistake by his part.
By never taking full advan- tage of the space, the show came across as your average VMAs medley with a slightly higher budget, rather than a perform- ance that was envisioned and executed specifically for a stage as big as the Super Bowl. While it's possible to pull off a dynamic solo halftime set – just look at Lady Gaga's in 2017 – The Weeknd often struggled to keep up with the show's break- neck pace, and could've used a guest or two to help ease the pressure.
It goes without saying that Drake is one of, if not the, biggest rap artists in the world. Boasting a universal fanbase spanning dozens of countries and all walks of life, Drizzy has smashed milestone after mile- stone throughout his decade- plus career. And with his new album Certified Lover Boy seemingly around the corner -- though we have yet to receive a proper release date -- it would appear that Drizzy is poised for another gargantuan year.
Case in point, a new reve- l a tion from Our Generation Music indicates that within the single month of January, Drake has reportedly secured over five- hundred-million streams on Spotify alone. A staggering number to be sure, all the more

impressive given that he hasn't released a new single since Au- gust 14th, when he and Lil Durk linked up for "Laugh Now Cry Later." Clearly, the man's catalog features plenty of
replay value, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Drake's up- coming project add a few more massive hits and boost his num- bers accordingly.
At this stage, it feels as if Drake is miles ahead of his contemporaries, at least when it comes to commercial prowess. Though some still remain hesi- tant to give Drizzy his flowers, it's impossible to deny that he's managed to bring something for everyone to the table, respected by lyricists and pop fans alike. With some impressive stats al- ready lining his 2021 resume, perhaps we'll see the self-de- clared Lover Boy closing out the year as the reigning MVP. Sound off if you were one of the many keeping Drake in steady rotation this year.

Kanye West Is 'Done' With Kim Kardashian Marriage And Will File
For Divorce Before Her 'If He Has To'
For the last month, reports have circulated that Kim Kar- dashian and Kanye West's marriage is over. Neither party has filed for divorce yet, but ac- cording to E!, West is getting impatient. People and E! re- ported yesterday that the couple isn't talking to each other.
Kardashian, a source told People, has "a divorce plan in place and will file when she is ready." But she likely won't sub- mit paperwork until her family's reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians airs, as her and West's marriage breakdown is

featured prominently as a story- line. The source said, "her issues with Kanye are a big part of the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians." The source
added that Kardashian will likely "file for divorce when the season has aired." The season premiere is March 18, so it could be weeks until Kardashian makes the split official.
West may not wait that long though, E! was told. A source said, "Kanye is also completely done with the marriage and is moving on. He doesn't care what Kim's priorities are with hold- ing off on a divorce announce- ment. He will file before she's ready if he has to. He wants the divorce just as much as Kim does."
