WILLIE EDWARD KEARNEY
A Happy Birthday Shout Out to the late Willie E. Kearney! Mr. Kearney was born February 14th. He passed away August 23rd due to COVID-19 complications.
Mr. Kearney graduated from Hillsborough High School. He at- tended U.S.F. and F.A.M.U., where he mastered in Education/Lead- ership and minored in The Arts!
Rest in peace “FAMU RATTLER.”
You are truly missed, but not forgotten. A scholarship for $500.00 in his name will be given away in the fall. Qualifications are, you must be a FAMU student with at least a 2.0 grade point average. Also, majoring in Education or the Arts. Mr. Kearney was very pas- sionate about giving back to FAMU.
FAMILY NOTICE
MRS. DOROTHY L. POLITE THOMAS
Mrs. Dorothy L. Polite Thomas, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Dorothy was born on September 15, 1937. She was a resident of West Tampa her entire life.
Dorothy was affectionately known to friends and family as “Dottie.” Dorothy was employed as a housekeeper at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Tampa, Florida, for several years before retiring in the late 90’s.
Dorothy was an avid tennis player on the local courts in West Tampa and she loved watching tennis on television.
Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents, Charlie and Gussie Polite; son, Gary J. Thomas; brothers, Alliston Po- lite, Theron Polite and Robert Polite; and sister, Delores Polite.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Gloria J. Jenk- ins; and nieces, Valencia Polite and Gail Vinson.
Dorothy fought a good fight, but she was tired and ready to go home. She will be truly missed by her many friends and family.
MRS. LORETTA JEAN KNIGHT-KILPATRICK
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Loretta Jean Knight-Kilpatrick will be held Saturday, February 13,2021,12p.m.–2p.m.,at Rowlette Park Shelter #218, 2401 E. Yukon St., Tampa, FL 33604. In keeping with CDC guidelines,
face masks are required.
Mrs. Knight-Kilpatrick was
born January 15, 1957, to the par- ents of Willie and Berbener Knight. She passed away on Jan- uary 22, 2021.
A member of the City of Judah Worship Center, her ex- husband is Charles Kilpatrick. Her occupation was in domestic services.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and Pastor Clin- tine E. Murlin.
Loretta leaves to cherish: 4 sisters, Zina (Joe) Brannon, Edie (Lorenza) Thomas, Verbener Walker and Denise (Lucious) Jones; 3 brothers, Willie Knight, Randolph Knight, and Joseph Knight; brother-in-law, Charlie Hedman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special friend being Evelyn Howard and the City of Judah Worship Center Family.
