A Tampa woman died after being injured in a traf- fic accident with a train. The accident took place at the railroad crossing on Jim Lefler Circle and U. S. 92, po- lice said.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, the accident took place around 4:30 p.m., last Thursday afternoon.
The family has identified the young woman as 32- year-old Jasmine Ford.
A Tampa native, Ms. Ford attended the schools of Hillsborough County. She graduated from Blake High School in 2006. Family members said she then en- tered the work force.

sweet person. She was just so full of love and so full of life. She was loved by many.”
Ms Ford loved reading and her plans were to one day write a book, her family said.
She was the dedicated mother of two daughters and a son. She is also survived by
her parents, grandparents, siblings, other family mem- bers and friends.
Ms. Ford had only been working for the delivery company for a few months. She was driving the vehicle when it was struck by the train.
Funeral Services for Ms. Ford will take place on Sat- urday. Ray Williams Funeral Home is in charge of han- dling arrangements.
Birthday Party Ends With 1 Dead, Several Injured
About 60 people attended a birthday party in the 5000 block of W. O. Griffin Road in Plant City.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigation a fatal shooting that took place in Plant City on Sunday. It re- sulted in one person being fa- tally wounded and three others injured.
According to police, around 12:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a rented barn in the 5000 block of W.O. Griffin Road, in Plant City. When they arrived at the scene, they learned that a 25- year-old man had been trans- ported to Lakeland Regional Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. Three other people were also injured by gunfire.
During the investigati9on, detectives learned that the event was a birthday party, which had been attended by about 60 people. At some point, an altercation took place that resulted in shots being fired.
Everyone at the party were accounted for and were coop- erating with detectives and the investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigat- ing an incident that left a child dead and another per- son in critical condition.
According to police, on Sunday night, deputies were dispatched to The Place at Carrollwood Apartments Complex, around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they learned that a vehicle had struck and killed a 14-year- old.
Deputies learned that a physical confrontation had taken place earlier, and the driver of the vehicle is be- lieved to have been involved.
At some point, shots were fired toward the driver. The woman, described in her early 20s, was transported to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
      Man Shot During Armed Robbery In Ybor City
Tampa Police are cur- rently searching for an armed robbery suspect. The incident took place early Saturday in Ybor City.
According to police, the man was in the 1200 block of N. 20th Street, between Adamo Drive and E. Second Avenue.
Detectives believe the man was approached by an armed suspect, who robbed him and then shot him. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Police said they’re looking for a suspect described as a black man in his mid-twen- ties, about 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds. He had shoulder- length dreadlocks and was dressed in all-black clothing.
Detectives are also look- ing for the occupants of a gray sedan who were in the area at the time of the robbery and may have information that could help the investigation.
Police are also investigat- ing another possible shooting
incident on E. Seventh Av- enue that sent people run- ning about 90 minutes before the 3:20 a.m. robbery.
This incident took place about 2 a.m., when what sounded like gunshots rang out in the area of E. Seventh Avenue and N.19th Street.
No one was reported to have been wounded by gun- fire in this incident, but Durkin said a woman who fell suffered a laceration on her head.
Detectives are reviewing surveillance video to learn more about that incident, Eddie Durkin, spokesman for the Tampa Police Depart- ment said.
“We have not determined the incidents are related; however, as it is early in both investigations nothing has been ruled out at this point,” Durkin said.
