   RAY WILLIAMS
MR. JOSEPH ‘JOE’ CHAPPELL
Mr. Joseph “Joe” Chappell of Tampa, FL, passed away Satur- day, March 20, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted Satur- day,April3at11a.m.atRay Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL, with Reverend James Anderson, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.
Mr. Joseph Chappell, affec- tionately known as “Joe,” was a native of Brierfield, Alabama and a resident of Tampa for 40 years. He was educated in the public schools of Bibb County, Alabama, where he last attended Bibb County Training School. He grad- uated from public school in Pitts- burgh, Pennsylvania. He retired as a Truck Driver for Waste Man- agement where he had the oppor- tunity to train close friends prior to his retirement.
Mr. Chappell accepted Christ as His personal savoir as a child and was a member of Wayman Chapel A. M. E. Church. He later joined New Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Chappell enjoyed singing and dancing and he will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. Page and Ms. Betty Chappell-Moore.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: daughter, Jacqueline Heard of Flint, Michigan; brother, George Page of Ocala, FL; cousins, James “Bo” Chappell and Benny Chappell (Althea); longtime friend and caregiver, Bertha Russell; close friends and co-workers, Joseph Mingo, Jr., Odell Mingo, Willie Mingo and Bertan Sampson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose from 4–7p.m.Friday,April2atRay Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are required.

MR. FAMOUS THEODORE FLOYD
Mr. Famous Theodore Floyd of Tampa was called to eternal rest and to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 27, 2021. At last, his mind, body and soul were free from this world of pain and sorrow.

Mr. Famous Theodore Floyd was a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida born to the late Henry Floyd and Sarah William Floyd. He was baptized at Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church of Hyde Park. Out of his concern for his community, he be- came a member of the Neighbor- hood Watch Program in the West Tampa community and partici- pated in the Riverfront Park De- velopment.
Mr. Floyd attended the Public Schools of Hillsborough County which included the historical Doberville Elementary and Booker T. Washington Junior/High School.
He entered the armed services prior to the age of eligibility and in 1942 joined the U. S. Navy. While in the Navy he served aboard the USS Boise, which saw extensive service during World War II, tak- ing part in fighting in the Mediter- ranean and Pacific theaters.
In 1945, he returned home and began working for Florida Steel and later, Tampa Electric Company. During his 29 years with TECO he received numerous
awards and recognitions for his leadership and work ethic. He re- tired from TECO in 1986.
Famous enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, listening to music, playing the guitar and home im- provement projects, but he never hesitated to assist his family, friends, and neighbors with their projects as well. Although he kept busy with others, he never neg- lected his immediate and ex- tended family. He was a loving husband and caring father, who always took advantage of a teach- able moment and a time to pass on lessons of life. Unselfishly, he cared for his mother, mother-in- law, aunt, friends, and his loving wife of 64 years, Mrs. Eunice Ce- leste Floyd, during their stages of declining health.
Famous was predeceased by: parents, Henry and Sarah Floyd; wife, Eunice Fleming Floyd; sis- ters, Pallie Floyd, Callie Floyd Holiday, Henri Mae Phillips, and Alease Lindsey Washington; and brother, George Floyd.
Cherished memories will re- main with: son, Hildreth Fleming, Jr. (Queen); daughter, Carol Kay Brown (Charles); and son, Theodore Vincent Floyd, Sr. (Octeon); grandchildren, Vivian Fleming-Alvarez, Tamara Flem- ing-Lett (Jearl), Cicily K. Brown (Brian), Dayna Coney-Powell (Mitch), Kayla C. Dozier (Rod- ney), Theodore Vincent Floyd, Jr., Isaiah K. Floyd, Ashley Fleming, and Hildreth Arron Fleming; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Brenda Lindsey, Elder Garland “Ricky” Phillips, Shawn Lee (Kevin), Osbert Walker, Stacey Walker (Kim), and Ellis Walker (Shirley). A special thank you to: LaFawn Hopkins, Grady Ferrell, III and James Lies, Jr. (Ramona).
The visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p. m. Thursday, April 1, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC Guidelines. Masks are re- quired.

MOTHER FLORA HARRIS
Mother Flora Harris of Tampa passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 3, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, 4025 W. Palmetto Street with Rev. An- thony Greene, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mother Flora Harris was a na- tive of Port Tampa, Florida, born to the late Mr. Irwin Harris, Sr. and Mrs. Marie Holmes. She was a lifelong resident of Tampa and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. Mother Harris married at an early age and was a faithful mem- ber of First Baptist Church of Lin- coln Gardens for over 60 years. She served in the following min- istries during her 60 years at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gar- dens: Sang in # 1 Choir and The Stevenson Choir, The Mother’s Board, President of Deaconess Board, Active Mission member, Deaconess and assisted in church kitchen during 1970s – 1980s.
Mother Harris worked at MacDill Air Force Base as a dish- washer; Orange Pharmacy as a short order cook; Floridian Hotel as a salad chef; Temple Terrace Downtown Tampa Hotel and Morrison Imperial House for 11 years as a sous-chef; University Community Hospital for 23 years (now Advent Health Hospital) and retired on March 11, 1995.
After retirement, she got a
dog named Rusty and worked as a school crossing guard for 2 years; studied for her Certified Nursing Assistance degree for 7 months and began a new career with Su Casa Nursing Home for about 5 years. Mother Harris en- joyed gardening, her walks and going to Brandon YMCA for daily exercise with the Silver Sneakers Group.
She was preceded in death by: father, Irwin Harris, Sr.; mother, Sister Marie Holmes Harris; her paternal grandparents, Mr. Will and Anna B. Harris; her maternal grandparents, Henry and Carrie Anthony Elder; two sisters, Lou- venia Florence and Eldora Williams; three brothers, Lerome Harris, Ervin Harris, Jr. and Noah Harris; son, Anthony Simons; and grandson, Derrick Everett, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five sons, Floyd Harris, Wilton, Sr. (Katherine) Simons, Derrick Everett, Sr., and Ellis, Sr. (Kizuwanda) Everett; two daugh- ters, Florine Johnson, and Jacqueline Simons; grandchil- dren, Billie Harris, Alonzo Har- ris, Alfonso Harris, Delores Brooks, Wilton, Jr. Simons, Dionne Ersery, Hasante Rashad, Marvin Simons, Alvin Simons, Milton Davis, Edwin Davis, Stacy Franklin, Nichole Simons, Brandi Simons, Brieana Simons, Anthony Simons, Jr., Christo- pher Everett, Chantell Everett, Erika Everett, Derrick, Jr. Everett, Dereka Everett, Ellis, Jr. Everett, Tranika Everett, Ter- rance Everett, and Dakarai Everett; a host of great-grand- children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held at First Baptist of Lincoln Gardens one hour prior to service time 10 a. m. Due to COVID-19 restric- tion there will not be a repast. We are asking family and friends to please follow the CDC guide- lines. Masks are required.

In loving memories of our beloved Mr. Alfred Alexan- der, 24, who was tragically killed at the TECO Plant on Big Bend Road 40 years ago, 3/28/1981.
Although it has been no mention, ever, when others have met their tragedy at the same plant, even with the re- cent deaths within the past 4 years. The pain of his death is forever present!
Loving, missing, and re- membering Alfred forever, Mrs. Darlene Wiggins and family.
